I don't get it, why do people hate?

I think RX8 is a nice car, built with different goal in mind comparing to the Z.. But they both are good look cars competing in the same market.

Its sad they make up all of these subjective things to make their purchase/car better than the Z, but I think Zthang sorta put them in their place. BTW the funniest thing is that they think the 8 looks so much better than the 350, in whose dream is that!

 

I agree, the Z is considerably more attractive than the 8. That is, of course, a totally subjective thing.

 

i dont even know why we get so caught up on other people. who cares what they think? just as long as you are happy with the car.

 

It does'nt matter WHAT car forum you go to, everyone thinks they have the baddest car in the world, read the kill stories Im sure they are "Pwning" the Z like everyone else does in these things, whatever it takes to justify your purchase if your insecure about it

 

I like the 8 and I like my Z. Maybe someone should post on the RX-8 forum the thread where we were complimenting the guy with the 8?

 

Z members hate on other cars too...just check out any xxx vs. 350z thread. I'm always tempted to rebuke stupid posts, but it's not worth my time.

I did notice Zthang, lkeWRX, and ml2316 had some very good arguments without looking like trolls, and some other member stated that his/her opinion of the most ingenious car is the Toyota Prius. I do like reading good posts like those.

I do like the RX8 for it's handling prowless, and it looks good from many angles. I didn't get one, but I don't see why people need to justify that they bought the best car. Yes, I envy the 8's rear seats and nimbleness. I also envy the handling, versatility, AWD, and power in the Sti and Evo VIII. The M3 is unbelievably fast and classy, and the Z06's has supercar performance at bargain basement price. There are so many nice cars out there, so any post that states such car is better than another car is pure crap.

The Z just worked out best for me at this time in my life!

 

of course these people hate on z's or any other car. they're car enthusiasts just like many of us. it's like their pride is on the line when people compare with their 8's. bottom line...they're just opinions. no matter how wrong they are... (-:

 

RX8's are pretty dope. Z's are king **** though.

People will always hate. I drove the rx8 and i actually liked it a lot. I would never trade in the z for it (ever), but its still a neat little car.

 

I always have to laugh when I read "Which car is better" threads.

It`s like asking "what is the funniest movie?", or "who is the hottest chick?"
Just about everyone you ask is going to have a different answer.
Why would someone ask on an RX-8 website which car is better?
Why would an RX-8 driver come to a 350Z site and talk sh*t?
Who cares?

 

they're actually owning evos and stis. an evo was parked on the side of the road, one of the rx8club members passed it in his car, and he posted a kill story about it.

 

i never hesitate to spank RX-8's at the track. time slips speak for themselves, and respect WILL be paid.

 

Hehe, well I killed a Saleen S7 when he was stuck in traffic and I drove by in the carpool lane. There is no way an RX-8 could have pulled that off!

If you have to make your self feel better by trashing other cars, then it is too bad you aren't secure enough in your own car to just admit that everyone has difference preferences about what is "best".

I'm just happy that we have a good choice of sports cars out there, unlike maybe 10 years ago when they were all dying out.

I love how they claim that the 8 is a better car and tote the fact that it won those worthless magazine sports car comparos. 99% of the time the 8 won because it was more 'practical solution' i.e. has 4 dours and 4 seats. Perhaps the magazines should re-establish their definitions of sports cars: cars that are given to be impractical but are forgiven becaues they deliver a superior driving experience. I doubt a car that puts 190 to the wheels in a near 3000lb platform could provide a superior driving experience. Regardless of how nimble it is, you cant shake the feeling that a lawn mower could proably pull on you.

 

what is so great about rx8? slow, 4 seater, not pretty, have a rice looking clear tail light, sloppy fender( wannabe wide)....so on.....

oh well, rx8 is more comparable to toyota solara or accord v6.

You know, I actually like the RX8, and have been lurking on that forum for a while. The problem with that forum was, the inital problems that they had with their cars. That got most people there feeling grumpy and defensive.

The great Z vs (insert most car names here) will always go on, and will always be repeated. I used to be on S2ki for a while, I did a bit to defend the Z.

I don't like the way people refer to the Z as a collection of parts from other Nissan cars. That's an insult to the engineers who have been a part of the Z series for a long long time.



I think its ok for people to defend their cars if some troll enters their forum and start talking crap about it. But we're not going on their forums to talk thrash about their cars. They just have an INSECURITY PROBLEM and there is nothing for you to worry about.

As for the RX8 having superior technology, that's debatable. If rotary was really better, then why isn't everyone using it and why isn't Mazda using it in everyone of their cars?

Rotaries, as far as I'm concerned, is a technological failure. It does not produce power efficiently, despite having a capacity half of that of piston engines.

The RX8 is Mazda's attempt to compete with the Nissan Z/G, whether people like it or not. There is no future RX7 (unless they upgrade the RX7 to compete with the future GTR and NSX).

I'm so tempted to go on their forum and set things straight, but really, how can anyone compare an RX8 (which isn't even a sports car) to a 350z?????
