Default Does the LSD make a really big difference?

I'm planning to get a base model. Actually, i have to cuz i want a black one and there's only one black 350Z in the whole Oregon, which is a base model.

I would like to know if the LSD and the traction control really make a big difference.

well, Oregon is not the most populated state i believe, so if the dealers are short on Z's i wouldn't be surprised...

As far as LSD's:

I have a base model, i'm planning on getting an aftermarket LSD eventually.

I retract my statement then. Go with the NISMO LSD, much better from what I hear.

nismo lsd is great. about $1,400 including parts, labor and tax.

that popping sound in low speed turns means it is working

just have the dealer put on the nismo LSD as part of the agreement, you will be much happier with it, and its much better than stock.

LSD is great, you get to see all kinds of really cool things that you normally wouldn't see sober...

Oh wait, wrong forum!

the lsd is essential if you plan on doing any form of racing that involves turning or launching hard. it will save you, and help you go faster.

Thumbs up

I bought the base model a year ago and drive the car hard through corners, after all I live in Southern California. I dont notice not having the LSD in my car. I do hard starts as well and dont feel that it hinders my performance. I do regret not buying the enthusiast for the xenon headlights and the cruise control. If I had the traction control I would switch it off. The dealers in San Diego had all touring packages except for one dealer with a base model in a silverstone, the color I wanted. Overall I would do it again.

Hey, which Nissan dealer did you check? Tonkin has a black touring and I know beaverton nissan has a few black ones too. Check them out. Oregon is small, but, it's not that small! There are four Nissan dealers near the portland area and a few on the coast and another one down south somewhere, so you have your options. Are you sure there's only ONE black 350z in oregon and it's a base??? You do know you can order one, right?

I didn't go the all the dealers though. I checked their inventory on nissanusa.com. I went a the local dealer here in Corvallis and they said there was only one black 350Z in the whole Oregon ,which is a base model. What i want is either enthusiast or performance. BTW, i went to 3-4 dealers already and they all want MSRP.

Shop around until you find an Enthusiast...............you get soooooooooooo much more for the extra 2 Gs.

And do not believe anything a car dealer tells you.

In your shoes I'd call a bunch of other dealers until you find your combination. When I bought mine, I used the Nissan site & searched 3/4 of the dealers in ALL of Cali before I found my Brick 300 miles south of me.

I'm a big believer in "don't settle" when it comes to buying a car.

How much did you pay for your Enthusiast?
