Eh....no. Having the sensors in the wheels is like having a radio controlled car controller in your hands and no radio controlled car! You need the receiver unit, the associated wiring and I believe the ECU needs to be programmed so that when it starts receiving data from the TPS receiver, it understands it and knows how to display it on the trip computer display. I know the cost of the sensors is around $230/each. I shudder to think what the receiver, the sensor-to-receiver coding and ECU programming would cost. Anybody done this?

Youuuuuuu betcha! Damn expensive, eh?

In fact here's a cut and paste right off of performance nissan's site for the listing of this part.....

OEM Tire Pressure Sensor 350z / G35 $234.95

Notice it says Senor, not Sensors.....

from the pages and pages of threads in the for sale forum i went through seems like these are hard to get rid of, and don't sell for anything near what they're worth when they're new...

That's probably because it's impractical to put this system on a car that didn't have it installed as a factory option, and alot of people who DID get it as a factory option bought new rims on which the TP sensors don't fit. There is a thread here about a fabrication to mount the TP sensors to any rim, but I guess alot of people just don't want to go to the trouble.

I picked up a piece of metal in my tire a few weeks back, and the TPS system let me know there was a problem long before I would have felt a change in handling characteristics (under normal street conditions of course.) It's a nice 'luxury' to have, especially with low-profile tires that tend to hide a low pressure condition.
