If they're slowing down production its either sales/cost related or...(fingers crossed) pending a redesign (maybe not so much body but motor...)? Otherwise, they're just plain nuts IMO. It is possible they're just making more than what's actually selling...

^ 295 HP is NOT a reason to trade the current Z for a new one

Cool

After reading all the information, rumers, ETC. about the 2005 Z,
I don't know what I'll be in for. I plan to either order a 2005 Z touring or but one after they arrive in the country this autumn.
I'm going to take a deep breath and hang in there! ZRA.

6 inches longer. Plugged something front and plugged something back. Bull ****!. That two strange bumpers don't belong to Z body. This is what happened when somebody works based on the "form follow function" strategy.
A car such as Z should be designed the other way around.
Look at Lambo, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Bugatti, Porsche. That's automobile. Everything starts from Basic, and coming from there, retouch only, but not changing the basic shape or character of the car. Apparently some stupid people are working in the Nissan department, after all Z is popular not because of it's 0-60.
I thought Z belongs to exclusive automobile heritage. But, Short life the Beauty.

Discontinued.. haha

I have had salesmen of all differnt makes tell me that it will be discontinued for the next year and I better get one while I can. S2000, Ev08, Sti, 350Z, ect. Ev08 Salesmen say this EVERYTIME I talk to them. Do they not realize their customers might actually know something about cars?

I wonder how many people actually fall for this?

anyone else heard that they may be adding a yellow color option to the lineup. I've heard this from two different people inside Nissan dealerships now (non-sales staff).

Just wondering if they are introducing new color(s) and, if so, what ones will go away...

If the G35 coupe is really going up 15 HP as you say, then I'm sure the Z will be raised at least as much.

Zexy,

Could this impending shutdown be the required "re-tooling" of the assembly line for the 2005 model year?

Honestly, I don't know if that's just a few days or a considerably longer time period. Anyone know?

Jerry

Talking 2005 Rumor

I got it from a reliable source at Nissan USA that there will be a major change made to the "Z" in 2005.

It will affect the Coupe and the Roadster....

They are going to remove all of the "Z" badging and turn them upside down. After this new design change, Nissan will market the newly designed car as a "Z"

Sales are predicted to increase 81.54% in non-domesticated market areas and 77.925% in all other areas.

Nissan expects to have the new vehicles in production by September, 2004 with a projected date to hit the market in early December, 2004.

Watch for the new commercials on all local and premium channels.

Good one, topdown-z. I particularly like the three decimal stat to back up the claims. May be you are only 1/2 right. Nissan is actually redesigning the Z sideways and sell it as a 350N.
