question for TOM_in_NY
i few days ago you posted that you timed your 0-60 and said you got 5.6. exaclty how did you reach those numbers in 5AT. i thought it was more like 5.8-6.0. if you could tell me how you did this i would apprciate it. i've got my cs touring a/t and i am still getting numbers in the low 6.
i listed in the post i used the stopwatch is it accurate who knows i think it is.
empty gas tank 100 pound girl working watch
traction control off
and well GUN IT
key is to getting used to driving with traction control off
and not being afraid to redline
ive seen others who posted times but they all shifted around 5500 rpms, that aint gonna cut it.
im trying to get to the track but havvent had a chance for 1/4 mile times dont remember what the highest 0-60 time was that day check my old post im certain i listed it

i just did what u said and still got times in the mid six, 6.5 &6.7 to be exact. tcs was off, gunned it and didnt let go till i reached around 70mph. i just dont understand. could there be something wrong with my tranny? should i idle before taking off? it was hot today but i dont think it would have made much of a difference. the road was pretty much level and straight. it just didnt sound the engine was very responsive. didnt feel like i was pushed back in my seat. what went wrong?
how many miles are on your car i got abought 2000. theres nothing wrong with your tranny after all if your getting a 6 or so thats only .5 sec slower. it was abought 65-70 deg
and you should be feeling it .
i find it hard to believe your not getting thrown back in your seats you may be spinning your tires.
and dont work the clock yourself its hard to look at the spedo and hit the stop at the same time you may be getting your delay there i had a girl work it and still she needed practice

i didn't skid my wheels, had the windows down and didnt here any screech not even from 1st to 2nd. have about 1400 miles and i did follow the break in for the most part but i dont think that would have slowed the car down if i occassionally hit 5000 rpm.
dude i dont know what to tell ya
keep trying 6.7 is a full second higher then me
perhaps you need to break your engine in more
check your tire presures
practice with the stopwatch a slight hesitation will throw your number off
or better yet just hit the track
theres got to be someone out there that can confirm some hard numbers at the track
if you can post here
