Yep, the HR dipstick is perfectly placed (middle front), and works like charm. If the engine sits for a few minutes, you don't even have to wipe it. Eat your hearts out.

tip 1: flashlight, it's a deep dark place.
tip 2: when all else fails just start poking around. You'll hit the hole eventually.

They put that "funnel/slide" thing there to help. You can slide the end of the dipstick down it and it should guide itself into the hole. It just sucks when you change the oil and start the car. You can't get a good reading. 5 qts. and you're good to go, though.
I always check mine the next day BEFORE starting the car or after it sits for about an hour. You can get a good read then.

Hey everyone I'm new to the forum and figured that since anyone who drives a 350z hates the dipstick, it would be a good first post to share a tip. I used to do lube service and had to figure out an accurate and fast way to check these things long before I could buy one. the trick is. slide the dipstick in until the rubber grommet is about 1" from the hole (approximate distance between E and F) then slide it in all the way and back out again as fast as you can, it takes practice to avoid catching the grommet on the hole. But done like this you get a good dip and get the stick out fast enough it won't rub against the sides of the shaft and mess up your reading. It works every time for me. Unless it's a bit dark and I can't see what I 'm doing. I hope this works for you guys too as I'm sure none of you want to let the car sit for an hour after the (oh **** i forgot to check it before starting the engine) moments. good luck.
