Default Getting worried, anyone else in this position?

I took over a cancellation back in Late Aug/Early Sept for a SB Enth 350z due in Nov. with a W order number. I was told I shold have my VIN by early Oct, since the average wait after VIN I hear is 30days. Well, it's Oct 8 now, no VIN. And they told me the car would be here in the first week of November. Getting a little curious to what the hell is going on. Anyone else in this position, a W order number, Nov. Delivery date, no VIN? Did the dealer BS me to get me to take over the cancellation, or is it possible sitll for delivery after reciving the VIN in under 30days?

Could it possibly be the strike going on which is delaying my Z? Although I live in Virginia, so does the west coast strike affect me?

The West Coast strike in no way effects the East Coast. If the East Coast were reliant on everything coming through the West Coast, imagine what your destination, aka shipping and handling charges would be.
I think everyone who has spent any time on this site realizes that there liitle logic as to how and when these vehicles are built , let alone shipped.
I ordered 3/13, my freakin order wasn't submitted to NNA until Sept 5th. What the hell have they been doing with my $1000
deposit. I'm pissed but yet I was told it would be December.
Patience it seems is truly a virtue.........

It's mostly just the eastern coastal states that the cars come to. Here in central Ohio, they are sent by train from the west coast to Chicago, then by truck here. I have a W order number as well and I got a VIN with a delivery date of 10/28. I don't know if the shipping lockout will delay it or not.

Jose, I've thought about it a million times. Unfortunately if I choose that route I may not get exactly the Z I want. That, to me is not an option. Nor is waiting another six months for my Z.This is not a postion I am used to being in nor one I like.
But in deference to the dealership I was told December delivery date from the get go. It was not clear however exacly how this whole process was designed. I should have asked many, many more questions. And Nissan should have thought it through a little more thoroughly.
With respect to Sabre, I've been following the lockout/strike pretty closely. I don't think anyone can give a precise answer as to what it will do to vehicle shipments. It's so complex and such a logistical nightmare, I'm not sure the dock directors are sure what will happen when the President invokes the Taft-Hartley Act. I've read that they anticipate a 4 to 6 week "undoing". But as mentioned above, who the hell really knows. It's a major cluster!
