rumor had it there was going to be a commercial during sundays BBall finals. I saw the 2nd half and didn't see it. was it on?

Nope. False rumor. Someone posted that ZISME has said there will be no commercials until September.

someone who works for Nissan, on the 350Z project. Don't think he is the engineer, but more of a pr guy. He visit zcar.com frequently and post some informative stuff there.

That's about right. It was I who asked him about the ad campaign and he said no ads until September. Not sure if he meant TV or print ads or both.

how can there be no ads until september if the z comes out in august? shouldn't there be ads before the car comes out?

Because the car is not available to purchase from dealers until around December. We gobbled them all up until then
