Ha, you're the second person to mention this on the board that I know of.... I was the first Since I do a lot of freeway driving, I'm not always shifting... and I guess I like to rest my arm further back than most people or something... and then BUMP! What's that? Oh, again...

 

Hmmm... to me, the Z's seats are pretty comfortable, but I haven't really been on very long trips with it.

Although the original poster isn't complaining about the ride (so he says), I feel it can really beat you up. The roads aren't so go up here, and my Maxima is A LOT smoother... too bad it doesn't get the positive attention and handles poorly compared to the Z.

 

Can I join the pointy elbow club, too? When I'm not opening the center console, I'm turning on the seat heaters.

I love my stock cloth seats. It practically wraps around my body and gives me a lot of support. Very nice...

 

I have to agree. I was prepared for some discomfort, but since Day 1 I've been impressed with how comfortable the seats are, roomy, too.

 

Lex, I just drove 2 hours yesterday from Gainesville to Orlando (120 miles including the city driving). My back fit perfectly and it kept me from moving laterally. Sorry to rub it in You should look into aftermarket seats if you can't solve the problem. Maybe some Cobra Misano Ls???

 

Hmmmm, good idea? What are the best aftermarket seats to look into that won't break the bank and look GREAT. Will all the power features work as well? Sorry I am an aftermarket seat newbie.

lol. It's kind of a old man's cushion, but at least it does say "Harley Davidsion" on it (I also have a Harley). (It's just a very small cushion that I can put right in the small of my back - that's all I need.) Guess I'm just an old man with some nice toys...

for the inflatable lumbar support. It's easy to put inside the seat. Can be inflated with the attached squeeze ball to suit your specific "lumbar."

I have the same lower back touble in my Z. I used to have pain in my truck but my body just got used to the seat and it stopped. I guess I will need more seat time in the Z. Good thing my work Commute is 1.5 hours each way.

My problem that has resulted from the seat, is that I have broken the coner of the center storage box cover. The crack can only be seen when its open, but I'm sure I'll do more damage using my elbows to adjust myself in the seat.

 

Folks, The lumbar support from the airplane place referenced in above threads is the definative solution. I had one installed about 3000 miles back. No problems since. Cheap, easy, effective.

I'm 6'2" & about 220 lbs.

 

For a "Sports car" I find the Z to be VERY comfortable. I'm 6'4", 195 poounds. I took the Z on a 3000 mile round trip from Eastern PA to New Orleans for Mardi Gras.

I even took a short 3 or 4 hour nap in the Z...

 

I have found that reclining seat back just a TAD relieves some of the aches and pains. Just completed a 1,100 trip to Pensacola, FL and enjoyed it all.

 

wow. i find this really weird bc i think this car is wayyy more comfortable than my bmw 330i. then again, the bmw did have h&r suspension and those crap non-sport non-supportive seats that let u slide around all over the place. not to mention no lumbar.

 

I just finished a 600 mi road trip. My first long trip in my Z Roadster and I found the ride to be most enjoyable and comfortable. I have owned 3 different Beemers and this car is just as comfortable. Though the Z does "bounce" a little more. I'm 5'9", 170 so not a really large guy.

I just did about an almost 3 hour trip today in the Z + another hour or so of driving earlier in the day. My back and all felt totally fine. I think I'm started to get more accustomed to rough ride now too.

 

i think the opposite, i think its a very comfortable car. i mean, i drove a integra before this, but my stepdad has a Jaguar XJ8 and an Audi TT and i think that on a long trip that the Z is actually more comfortable. It might be a bit noiser than the Jag, and bumpier than both cars.....but the way i have my seat adjusted i am perfect on long trips. i just put on the climate control, cruise control and put on a good long-playing cd and only stop when i need gas/food/or bathroom
