3M Clear Bra
Can you guys tell me a little bit more about the clear bra. I am waiting for my roadster to come in and am wondering if the bra is something I have the dealer put on before I take delivery or if it is something that a local shop puts on for you. Also for those of you who actually have one could you please attach some pics so I can see how noticable the bra really is? Thank you
The dealers in San Diego hadn't even heard of it until I asked them about it. The first one most of them had seen was mine. Things may be different in FL, but I know there's a ton of independent installers out there.
Do yourself a favor and 1) take recommendations from forum members 2) ask the installer for references and pictures. 3) don't go for the cheapest price - go with a quality installer.

If you have the money, get the clear bra! It is totally worth it...
I am going to try and install my own 3M clear bra this weekend. I heard it's extremely hard to install, but for $200 I'm going to give it a shot. I've installed tint before and I heard it's similar. Normally you can find a shop that will do it for around 500-700 dollars.
Do you research, there are 3 big bra manufactures, Llumar, Venture, 3M. All three have their pros and cons...

try searching www.xpel.com. That's the ones I got.
Mine was installed w/ bumper and mirrors for $400.
I believe all the clear bra company use the same material. So it doesnt really matter if you get it from 3M.
And I dont recommend putting on the clear bra yourself. Spend the extra 100-200 and have it installed. It's much more difficult than just tinting. The bumper has a lot more holes and curves than windows do.
As far as how noticeable it is, people dont even know you have clear bra if you don't tell them. Even if you do tell them, they have to point out where the clear bra edges are before they can see it. And there face probably has to be within 3 feet to see it.

Highly Recommended! I was somewhat skeptical myself as to how noticeable the hood/fender edges were. Honestly, when I pulled up to pick up my Roadster, I thought he hadn't had time to do it yet...sure enough he was already done and I clearly saw it once he pointed it out. Bottom line is everyone I show it to says the same thing, they don't notice till you point it out. It is more noticeable when dirty or pollened but to me it's WAY worth the protection. I've already driven 4 100+ mile trips with tons of bug debris and not more than 1 wet swipe is all it took, not to mention no nicks or signs of long trip abuse. I will send pic when I get a chance...I say do it, but not yourself; I paid $650 for all of front bumper, fenders, hood, wheel wells, all of mirrors, and 40mil on the xenon lenses(THICK but crystal clear), and he pointed out the car came stock with some already in front of the rear tires and to protect the power top tonneau. WELL WORTH IT!
Clear bras were originally developed to protect car noses without detracting from the car's appearance or marring its surface, as traditional bras often do.
However, some of us have been working behind the scenes to bring the clear bra concept to the world of feminine undergarnments. We believe that clear bras would offer all the same benefits on the female front with substantially enhanced appearance in many cases. We've partnered with Victora's Secret, Snoop Dogg Laboratories and NASA to develop new bra materials with the necessary mechanical and optical properties. Keeping our prototypes free of bugs and fingerprints and developing thin-film magnifiers remain our most pressing engineering challenges.

Clear Bra is a must if you dont want a sand blasted bumper.
I wouldnt install a clear bra myself. It isnt as easy as you might think. It takes practice and lots of times doing it to do it right.
Pricey to do it yourself badly.
Guys I know with lips also have clear bra'd the lip. and you should to protect it. The clear bra shop made the custom bra for the lip and installed it.
I recommend getting a clear bra and having it professionally installed.
