Default Newer generation ECU??

I've read that Nissan has changed some settings on the newer ECU's to make the Z more "tuneable". Can you can get the ecu reflashed to the latest generation? I read this on Automotiveforums.com I believe (under z cars).

Anybody heard anything about this?

The only thing I have heard is that some dealers are re-flashing some ECU's to widen the tolerances for certain variables, like the O2 sensors. Apparently, the initial tolerances were so tight that they were tripping the SES light when the car was still operating normally. As far as making the ECU more "tuneable", no I hadn't heard anything.
