VQ35 Question
I know that with a lot of engines there's points past the break-in point where they gain some extra "oomph" is there a point like that with the VQ35 in the Z or is it at peak after the 1200 mile period?
It's at its "peak" with however many miles you get it with.. whether it's 12, 1200, 12,000 etc. My co-worker dyno'd his car with 30 something miles on the odo and put down more power on the dyno than mine did with a religious, 1200 mile break-in that invloved no revving above 3500. Now maybe my engine will last longer, or his HP will fall off because he didn't break it in, but I doubt it. Back to your original question, there's no "set if free!" point where the full potential of the engine is released after a certain mileage.

the motor is run in the factory before you get your car... there really is no break in period...

You know this for a fact? If so may I ask you for your resource? I also don't think that break in is nessesary but I am not 100% sure and would love to find some official conformation.
