OF GAS I decided it would be cool to see how far i could go on a tank well with city highway i got 475 on a 20 gallon tank however

I DID NOT MAKE IT HOME

yes braniac ran out of gas 1/2 mile from his house had to walk home get what lawn, mower gas i had left abought 1/2 gallon fill the tank then head to the gas station where i put

19.953 gallons in lucky i made it to the station

anyway i believe i hold the record for largest fill up with this car and 475 is immpressive too.

you also had 2 firsts.
1.first person to run out of gas.
2.first and hopefully only one to use a lawn mower to save there ***.

I wouldn't do that too often man, I've heard that running all your gas out might hurt your car's engine. I plan on filling up everytime I hit 1/4 of a tank.

I heard that if you let the car run on empty too much You can cause some deposits that are left in the gas to go through and possibly damage your engine.
Over time the deposits will build up on the bottom of the tank and if you let it run low thats when those deposits are pulled into the engine. So basically saying, it is better to fill up when you have 1/4 of a tank left.

BTW. That really is some good gas mileage

Uh, the fuel pickup is on the BOTTOM of the tank! I would rather not get air in the fuel lines, though.

Man all of you people are acting like his car is 15 years old with 200,000 miles on. It is a brand new car and doing what he did will not hurt the car this early in the stage.
If the pickup is in the bottom of the tank wouldn't it suck all of that crap up even if it wasn't empty.

Default 19.953 gallons?

Man, I hope I didn't get a Hyundai fuel tank. I don't fill up at a quarter tank, but rather when my light comes on. At that point my trip computer says I have about 30 or so miles left till empty, but when I fill up (I have only done so twice) the tank gets full after putting in only 16.5 gallons of gas. Now I know there is extra in there for reserve so people will fill up BEFORE sputtering out on the side of the road, but 3.5 gallons? Just wondering if anyone else had gotten the needle to empty, had the light come on, and still only be able to put in 16.5 gallons to fill er up?

Were you looking at your "miles until empty" on the trip computer? Did you run out as you hit zero?

I chickened out at 25 miles to go, figuring that it isn't totally accurate. I'd be interested to see how close it is.

PS I passed 1200 miles this weekend, so no more 4000rpm limit. This thing is going to get me in trouble....

You know, I was actually thinking of what the range actually could be. Thank you for answering this for me, and us.
