I didn't, too lazy. It's probably a good idea though if you're not lazy like me. Your engine gets the most wear during the break in period, so it stands to reason that your oil is going to be dirty and should be changed sooner than the normal interval.

It's all a matter of preference... some change at the recommended interval (3750) and some change it as early as 500 miles (I've seen someone post that up before ). I changed mine at 2,700

If you're planning on gunning it and running it hard (since you're finished with break-in), then you should probably change the oil sooner rather than later. My $.02, of course

That depends on how much you baby your ride. For the price of an oil change, I am taking mine in. Even if it wouldn't do any good, there is no harm. Extra insurance and peace of mind.

Somebody didn't read their manual. I changed my oil at 1,200 miles, and I plan to change it again at 3,000. I have started beating on my car since the break in is over.

Noo, Black 03z is of the few who believe that piston rings do not need to seat properly to increase the life of the engine. They just run it hard right out of the box, and claim it to have more HP or whatever in the end...

When in doubt, if it says it in the manual, listen to them. Engineers worked long and hard to figure that sh*t out... trust them. They aren't "hiding" HP from you by telling you to wait 1200 miles for break in.

Are you sure? I found a few of those lil' buggers stashed in the hidden compartment of the cargo box. I think they were just planning on hiding there for another 80 miles until I reached break-in, then planned on jumping out when I wasn't looking. Anyway, I cought them and put them back under the hood were they belong. Those sneaky Nissan engineers hiding HP like that!

Really people. Would Nissan have any incentive to make you drive your car less agressive the first 1200 miles? They get nothing out of it except maybe your engine will last the full warranty. They don't even recommend the 1st oil change until 3750 miles!

I changed mine at 1800 after about 2.5 months.

The guy at the dealership told me that they dont use breakin oil, and that it could go awhile more, but I went ahead and did it anyway.
