Default Sap all over!

I was at a friends house last night for a barbeque and left my car parked under a tree (one of the few spots left at that point). When I came back out to leave I had sap all over my car. It looks like my car was sprayed lightly with a hose and the sap appears like little water droplets but when you touch it, it smears. What should I do? Will a regular car wash solve my problem? Oh, and I posted this in the detailing forum first but this forum gets more traffic so I figured I would post it here as well.

Yep, sap does suck a big fatty. I suggest doing a search, but what I came out with from reading other posts is that rubbing alcohol worked for me. You need to use ALOT of elbow grease getting that $h!t out, but be patient...it will come out.

Just got back from the car wash. I wanted to see if it would come off the easy way and use someone else's elbow grease for once. Worked like a charm; I guess the sap really hadn't had time to settle because the majority of it washed right off. Thanks for the info though. When I searched I saw that a lot of people had used alcohol but like I said, I wanted to try it the easy way first. I guess I got lucky.

Yup, isopropyl alcohol for paint and ice for the glass is the way to go. Glad you got to it quickly. It does bad things when let on there for a long time!
