Having a base model probably won't help. A thief may just steal the lights and hope yours has the Xenons, if he can't readily tell the difference.

This crap is what insurance is for, I guess. I'm still working on a way to electrify my car, though. lol... I just have to figure out a non-leathal method and I really have to figure out a way around liability problems, like if some kid accidentally gets knocked out from touching my car...

One thing to remember about Acura/Honda. The lights in those cars are VERY easy to steal.

Well, I had an Acura TL for 4 years and they were never stolen.

You know, how PATHETIC has someone got to be to go around stealing light bulbs!

People forget that you are allowed to carry (a gun that is) in Arizona. Great thief deterrent

One Christmas season I had decorated a 30-foot Hemlock tree at the corner of my house with all colors of lights, probably 400 of them. One night someone stole all of the bright blue bulbs they could reach from the ground. Hmmmm. Maybe that was for Honda's.........

The story all comes together now.

Actually the base model might be the reason some of the other Z models might have their lights stolen so they can sell to those with base models that want the HID's. That is the problem with the Acura/Honda situation their lights are interchangeable so the HID's are stolen for those that don't have them. As long as Nissan doesn't make these lights interchangeable with other models we should be ok until there are a ton of base models out there and the demand increases for the lights.

If you actually wanted to electrify your car, there is a security system out there that will do it. From what I've heard, it is pretty popular with the Buick GN guys. I'm not sure what it is called, but if you go to www.turbobuick.com, I'm sure someone there would be able to help you out.

I don't know if electrifying the car will help.

One can wear rubber boots and gloves to prevent grounding themselves.

Only if one knows the car is electrified. And one must first be electricuted before one knows...

Default Xenon theft

I almost wish the bulbs were easy to steal in my Z, so they wouldn't tear up the bodywork to get them out.
