What Changes Do You Want For '04?
Navy Blue exterior with frost/neutral cloth seats for lower trim models. I'd trade in my '03 for this combination in a heartbeat. I think other more classic sports car colors (dark green w/tan interiors, etc.) would be better as well.
More sensitive anti-pinch windows.
Opportunities to order wheels from other trims by themselves, rather than having to buy certain packages.
Better online order tracking and ownership section of the NissanUSA website. What's there now doesn't make me want to go there as a regular part of my day. Make the Z Owners' section more appropriate to enthusiasts - make everyone that's bought the car feel like they're part of something special.

NOTHING. cuz then we'd have to trade in the 2003 model year to get a new improved 2004.
but seriously, my list:
new colors: yellow and navy blue exterior. different colored cloth interiors! with alcantara inserts, while we're at it.
that rear strut bar should at least be REAL aluminum!
fix those damn cupholders!

oh and...
...ability to get those track rims and brembo brakes separately like you can with the g35 sports coupe. and different colored brembo brakes, instead of just gold. and maybe by next year we'll have those nismo body kits dealer installed yeah?

I think Nissan should seriously think of raising the base price of the Z to the current Enthusiast price. The car is undervalued and Nissan should be making more money off the success of the car ..
If not this, then they should make the enthusiast model the base model and just cut the current base model out .. i know this might anger some people but its my humble opinion

I totally agree with Z33Fan about the colors, the dark navy with frost, sand, or saddle seats, same with the dark metallic green with tan seats.
Also agree with having a variety of tires to choose from, like the michelin pilots, and all weather. also variety of wheel styles and sizes like 17, 18, 19, 20's
The thing I personally would like the best is for the electric seats to be able to move up and down for us shorter people, not just the front portion of the seat.
More sound proofing for a slightly quieter ride
A touch more quality in the interior ie: more padding and the most important...thge hand brake on the other side(passenger)
More padding in the seat bottoms
Bembo option for the touring
Glass targa top that doesn't leak, or a sun roof
Slightly more throaty exhaust
Less brake dust brakes
A glove box
A sunglass holder that holds the current style of sunglasses
350 Hp for a 350
No ridges in the hood, a smooth hood
Glass headlight covers
heated seat switches relocated
Fog lights, auto matic headlight turnoff switch
Easier access to the rear of the car, like the old 300zx, or a small ledge or seat like thing to put stuff on when you have a passenger, I currently use the passenger seat
Better way to track cars in preorder, didn't like being in the dark for 6 months
BTW I do plan on buying another z in 2004 0r 2005, but I still love the one I have now, for now

Keep the car as it is. I'm sure a more powerful version will come out, just hopefully not next year. Oh, and make less of them.
Too bad the pre order process is basically over. It stank and could have been improved. Miscommunication to no communication on multiple levels.
The Nissan website should have more Z stuff in it. This is the car that will help reinvigorate Nissan, it should look that way on their site.

-sunroof
-plastic that doesnt scratch so easy.
-a slightly wider driver's side seat
-a door that stays open when I open it, it always seems to shut on my leg.
-some sort of useable pocket or indent just behind the rear shelf, in front of the strut tower bar.
-fog lights
-make hat passenger side seatbelt rattle go away

#1 - light in the change holder that turns on upon opening lid.
#2 - 6 speed due to high torque...should be the equivalent of the ratio on the 5 speed automatic transmission for the first 5 gears...with the addition of a 6th gear with extra overdrive...so at 75 we are crusing near 2k rpm instead of 3k rpm.

I love this car BUT, I would love it more with:
1. A sunroof or targa
2. Oakleys will not fit in the sunglass holder
3. Fog lights
4. Glove box in the normal spot
5. Radio controls on steering wheel
6. More noticeable body colored front chin spoiler
7. Slightly more aggresive exhaust note
Please call when mine is ready. Thanks

Changes for 2004
1) More color options.
2) Sunglass holder that will hold modern sunglasses
3) Progressive rate springs and or better shock valving. This thing rides very rough. It bounces on every road ripple. Now before anyone trys to flame me about "sports car ride" be aware that sports cars are all I've ever owned. I have a Talon with polyurethane bushings in all suspension locations and a Pontiac Firehawk with the SLP performance suspension. No other sports car I have ever driven is this harsh. All they need to do is use progressive rate springs that are very easy for the first inch of travel. This would eliminate the road ripple bounces.
4) Move handbrake to passenger side of console.
5) Install a telescoping steering wheel. I would love to pull my back towards me another 1.5 inches.
6) Small jack 12v power source near or on the rearview mirror to make it easy to wire in a radar detector.
7) Lengthen back glass to improve rear visibility without having to lower the rearview mirror.
8) Auto windows up on the remote (reverse of current down system, i.e. Press arm and hold for 3 seconds and the windows go up)
9) Alarm arm and disarm with lights but no horn beep.
10) Addition of driver door mounted alarm indicator LED.
11) Replace inside door reflectors with lights that go on when door opened.
12) Mechanical (or 270deg sweep) Oil pressure and water temp gauges. Move voltmeter to computer digital display. It is the least critical engine gauge
13) Standard cargo nets.
14) Front license plate mount that does NOT require drilling bumper. (Come on Nissan. Bolt into the tow hook point)
15) Change the shape of the driver seat bottom cushion so that the side bolsters rise only at the thigh position not all the way back to the base of the seat. (Tight seat on the Butt. No I don't have a big butt. 6'1" 190 lbs.) Look at high end seats like recaro's for inspiration.
16) Put the home link controls at the top of the rear view mirror. In order for me to see out the back, I have to have the mirror lower then I like and it blocks a lot of my view to the right. It would be better if these buttons were either on top of the mirror or moved to the sunvisors. This would reduce the blockage.
17) Memory seat back positions. When ever I shift the passenger seat forward to get to the storage compartments, and then shift it back, I have to reach all the way over and mess with it to get it to lean back a little more. Otherwise it restricts my view to the right rear.
18) radio controls on steering wheel like G35 or Japanese version of 350Z
All this is only after driving it for 2 days. Let me go another month and I'll see if I have more to add.

I really like the car a lot and there isnt much I would change. Definitely make the leather/heated seats an option for non-touring models, I would have liked them on my track model. More colors would be cool like the others have stated before. Although I don't really want to see a power increase since I already bought my car, some type of HP gain, at least on the Track model, would be a nice addition. Other than that, I am really happy with the car and wouldn't change anything.
Give the track model a different suspension setup, shocks springs. Maybe pilots on the track model as well.
Low dust brake pads!!!
height adjustment on the manual seat (My wife can't drive the car cuz she sits too low).
Fix that buzz in the visor and in the dash!!

I LOVE the car. Mechanicals, looks, power, soul, is perfect. However, I use it as a daily driver, and life would be a little easier if:
1. Put the glove box where it belongs.
2. Easier access from the cabin into the hatch. I would like to be able to get in the car and toss a laptop bag in back, without having to open the hatch first, or put it in the passenger seat.
3. Can the seats be made to recline any further? Call it the "sleep in the Z the first night you have it" feature.
4. I would like to crack the windows on a rainy day for fresh air without the wiper blades pushing all the water into the car.
5. Fog lights!!! What's a sports car without fog lights?
6. Sealed storage compartment in the hatch area, so you have a place for your Zaino and detailing stuff. There's a lot of wasted space with all that styrofoam.
7. Hand brake on right side.
8. Plastic that doesn't scratch or scuff so easily.
9. Raise the door armrests a little because it sits too low, which will also allow more area to increase the map pockets. Right now, all I can put in those pockets are pens.
10. Enlarge the change holder.
11. Cushioned center armrest, better hinge design. A lot of stuff gets lost in the hinge gap. Enlarge it so you can put at least a 2 stacks of CD's. It's almost unusable now.
12. Move the hazard switch to the dash somewhere.
