Default What Changes Do You Want For '04?

This may be more for the people that have already taken delivery of an '03 model, but it's open to everyone:
What changes would you like to see Nissan make on the next model (2004) of 350Z?

Let your imagination run wild,
Doesn't it always?

(If you get your dreams in early they just might happen.)

I want 500 HP, a turbo option, a sunroof, no rear strut bar, a back seat, all wheel drive, a reduction of 300 pounds ... AND I want the price lowered to $23k.

Sorry, think I've been reading this forum too long...

I too would love to see a yellow 350z offered next year. I would definitely trade in my track for either a forced induction (preferably a turbo) or a lightweight model maybe like 2900 lbs.

Other than that I think the car is perfect.

Rotate out/in some colors.
Offer the convertible.
Keep the car otherwise mechanically/cosmetically the same.
Work out any minor bugs found in the 03.

It's WAY too soon to be offering a blown version of the Z.
(And frankly, I'd just as soon leave that as a Nismo option for the end user to install instead of making it a factory option.)

A slight bit of padding around the electric seat buttons - this would cushion to elbow and prevent accidental hot seat.
The auto up window is fine on the driver's side but should be dropped from the passenger's side- I've almost crushed my wife's fingers accidentally twice.
I'd like the lighter outlet a bit further up the console.
A touring with Brembo's would be nice.

All in all the above is just picky little stuff - a testament to how wonderful this car is for the money.

Can they make it just slightly less cool for '04? That way when people ask me what year mine is, I can say "yeah, it's a 2003, which is slightly cooler than the new 2004".

Seriously, though, I think it would be nice if the passanger seat could "remember" where it was before I flip it forward to get into the rear compartment. Is that technology patented by another automaker? My '97 240SX had the same problem.

Option Changes

Individualise ALL of the options.

If you want the Rays wheels with the performance model, then you should be able to order that. If you want leather seats in a base model, then you should be able to order it....you get my drift. I hate being forced to purchase options I don't want in order to get options I want.

Better order tracking please. It would be nice to get e-mailed your vin and be able to track your cars progress online on the Nissan web page.

More HP.

Optional stiffer suspension.

Just a few thoughts and observations. The electric switches for the windows on the driver side could be move about an inch forward as they are hard to use righjt now. I am concerned about the long term effect of the water that collects under the rear wing (drains when raised after washing the car. This could be a source of rust if the water collect around the mounting holes. Same type of concern about the water that collect arouond the top inside of the rear hatch (I had to try to dry it after washing and I don't think that I get it all. I have also noticed on several occasions that the rubber seal on the front lip of the hood rubs the paint on the body. It has remover my wax when dust has managed to get in there. The body lip at the rear of the tire well is open and catches dirt and water. On other cars this has been a long term source of rust.

On a different note, adding a Bluetooth capability to the sound system for use with cell fones would be nice (maybe including a built-in mic).

White leds in the door handles that come on when you remotely unlock the doors.

Update service for the nav unit for at least 2 years.

Low dust brake pads.

Better visibiliity out of rear view mirror.

A more aggressive limited slip dif. that doesn't kill the power.

More power! I prefer that it would be a little peaky rather than just a linear increase as RPM goes up. (I have been a turbo driver for years and it colors my thoughts on this.)

For now:

Change OEM tires to Michelin Pilot Sports and offer all season Pilot Sport A/S for us in the N. East.

Definitely offer the leather/power seats as an option on all models--would have been nice to see those seats in the track.

A factory twin turbo model.

A chip that ups HP significantly (rumor is there's a chip that ups HP to M3 territory--care to comment RxO?)

Adjustable suspension.

3M film nose-guard installed at the factory as an option at least.

What I wouldn't want to see:

An increase in HP across all models next year. This would depreciate the '03's quite bit more than normal. Also, it would be like admitting Nissan screwed up--why unnecessarily damage the image of the car when sales are very strong as is? It wouldn't make sense to update the external appearance of the car, so I wouldn't mess with something major like hp. I highly doubt its gonna happen next year anyway.

They should raise the price, and not offer Lemans Sunset. That'll keep my value high!

Really, though, Yellow and Green are two colors I would have bought if they were available, so I'd like to see them next year. Offering leather as an option on all models would be nice also.

My wish list is mostly minor stuff:

- Padded center armrest (it's hard and uncomfortable)

- Separate controls to turn off VDC and TCS

- Ability to flip passenger seat forward for compartment access without have to reposition it afterwards

- "Sticky" on/off for cruise control so it doesn't keep turning off, or better yet kill the on/off altogether and just use set/cancel like in other cars (e.g. Mercedes)

- A glove box in the usual place (too much to ask?)

Notice there is nothing regarding the mechanicals and the soul of the car: that's all good!
