i think nissan will fix the feathering for 05s, but some people have already reported the problem on their 04.5s. i wonder if they make changes mid-mid-year (i.e. later 04.5s vs earlier ones).

i don't think i would buy this car again. i like my car, but it's just not practical.

i would probably get an FD to fix up and an element as a daily driver.

Mind posting a thread or two of 04.5 owners getting the feathering issue? I havnt seen any personally.

one of the females in this forum posted a message stating she has feathering on her 04.5 Z. she said it was manufactured in January 04. so i assume that's 04.5. it was either amy croft or melissa, i believe.

Nope. Would not buy a Z again. Love the car overall, but was never impressed by any particular aspect of it. Probably would wait for C6 Z06 LS7 Vette.
