nissans secret Z
has anybody seen the new Road and Track, it has an article on Nissans Secret Z. Its pretty awesome, its got a longer nose, a longer rear, full bodykit, all nismo parts, and comes with 300hp, the first 5 prototypes are already sold, in japan, but i think they said they were planning to go in production. check it out.
It seemed interesting until I saw that it did 0-60 slower than our cars, unless the 5.8 sec figure posted was a mistake. Maybe they meant 4.8, anyway, It looks nice and I'm sure it handles like a dream, but I dont think Id be spending 50 grand on it.
well, the point of that car is for racing teams and companies to purchase them and to build it up from there. DriftKing Tsuchiya, who thinks 350Z are crappy sh!tty cars(not my words, it's a translated quote), was completely in love with this one

According to Sam Mitani, though, when he road shotgun, he could tell how much firmer the car was at high speeds. The body kit in this case actually does work, aerodynamically. Oh, and the speed governor's been removed, I think.
yeah... i just purchased the mag today cause of the front cover... not knowing that i could have read the entire article on their site... <sigh>
oh well... it's all good.. it's worth it
the car's a bit bette than the stock car.... it's got a lot better handling and stuff altogether....
i do like how it looks, but i'm still more attracted to the original version.....

300hp Id guess =headers, exhaust, intake. if that actually adds up to 300, Id be a tad suprised. but whatever.
the better handling should be from the Stune suspension, not the body kit.
theyll probably charge 10k for 5k worth of parts just cause.

Well, the article pretty much nixes the notion of the upped HP "anniversary" addition showing up as a 2005.5 model in this US. No big deal, IMHO. The body is overdone and only makes sense in the context of JGTC racing. And the price is way beyond over-inflated.
What's interesting, of course, are the engine mods. While the boost is only to 300 HP, I'd love to hear the sound of that baby under my hood.
It's also pretty obvious to me any hopes of the 300 HP motor making it into 2005 models is slim and none. Too bad.
Did anyone read the article in the same mag were they did the comparison between the RX-8 and the G35?
In overall points, the RX-8 "won" Which I thought was a little odd seeing as they seemed to slightly favor the G in the article.
They liked the G`s motor, back seat space, and looks better.
They practically called the RX-8 "ugly".
they liked the 8`s tranny better though.
Score was G35, 382.8, RX-8, 385.2

Weight: 3470 lb
Weight Distib: 52/48
0-60: 5.8 sec
This car is just fugly. I am sorry. Why would you want to put a body kit like this that doesn't even blend well to the overall shape of the car. The back body kid protudes out where it the hatch is. The front end is just too long. Acceleration is still no different.
OH whats the best part?
$60,000 for entire package (includes car)

Who'd want to add an extra $30 for that crap! Sorry..big thumbs down on this one.
