i just picked up a black 350z base. any tips for breakin in the engine?

 

Read your manual.

It is your friend.

 

You can run a search for engine break-in. You will get wildly different opinions on the proper way to do this. I'm with the Rat. I followed the manual and kept it under 4k RPM for the first 1200 miles, and no driving at constant speeds for long periods of time.

 

Me too! The harsh a$$kick technique that some subscribe to, just isn't logical. Can you imagine an olympic sprinter doing no stretching exercises before training or racing? Not hardly.

 

Yes, follow the book... however it's so hard not to stomp on it. You can taste the power, but can't swallow it. Congrats on your new toy! It'll be worth the wait.
