Got a screw in my tire - repair suggestions
I had the tire looked at and the screw goes all the way into the tire. It is not repairable. Put in an order for a replacement tire but the back order is "at least a month". Bridgestone RE040 235/50/17.
Looks like the Z is going in the garage for a little nap for a while :-(
The only other option was to replace both back tires with another type of tire but that would be double the cost and the tires only have 2700 miles on them right now.
Bummer,
Jerry

So what do you think - any chance a tire dealer would pro-rate the usage left on the tire and sell me a replacement taking this into account?
I need a Bridgestone Potenza RE040 235/50/17
Thanks,
Jerry

No chance of a pro-rate on a roadhazard......unless the tires where purchased at their shop and you bought the service package. No shop is going to eat any of the cost on an OEM tire.
I had the same thing happen to me last Saturday nearly the exact same spot. I took it to Goodyear and had it plugged, it is holding up so far. I using this as a reason to hurry up and get my new rims and tires.
