Default Why AC?

It was 50 the other morning and my climate control still defaulted to AC on while set to Auto? Anyone else have the same problem? I don't think the AC needs to be on when it's cold & dry out.

I have the same question. Everytime I turn the "Fan" **** the A/C is on. Even if I turn it off right before I turn the fan off and no matter what I have the "Temp" **** set at. Any feedback on this?

All:

Without the default to AC, your windshields will fog up easier due to the moisture in the air. Using AC removes the humidity in the ambient air to help delay frost or condensation formation on the interior of glass surfaces. Adjust the temp so it feels comfy, but use the AC to prevent fogging over the glass.

That is correct. Also, the AC on with the heater will produce a noticeably warmer feeling. (Go figure)

Last night, I had the Climate Control in the "OFF" position, windows down, and had extremely warm air coming in through the vents...anyone else getting this? The temp was set at somewhere around 65...

Well at least you have your A/C working. The dealer still hasn't called me back with a solution on why mine is not working. You will need A/C in that car as it definately gets hot without the A/C on even with the temp in the 60s

Default 350Z A/C

I've got a few comments about the A/C.

Yes, the oustide air that comes through the vents is much warmer than the ambient outside air, even if you have the temp dial turned down to 60 (this is, of course, with the A/C off). That is bad, and it means nissan either made a mistake in routing the vent lines, or had no other choice.

I think the fact that the car gets hot inside and feeds hotter than normal air in through the vents, is part of the reason why the A/C comes on by default. Maybe that's their way to compensate - pretty lame if you ask me. I agree that even with it's a nice cool 60-something outside, it still gets too warm inside the car.

My A/C doesn't turn on automatically anymore. I can't remember exactly what combination of controls I set that got it to stop, but here's what I think I did:

1) make sure none of the ***** are in the "auto" mode. Start the car. Drive around. Stop the car, still with none of the controls on "auto". Let me know if then the next time you start it, if the A/C automatically comes on.

My guess is that if you turn on the car with nothing in auto mode, then turn off the car with nothing in auto mode, the computer gets the hint at leaves auto mode off. However, if any of the auto settings (meaning the fan speed or air distribution) are set to auto, then the whole system comes back on auto next time you start the car. At least I think that's what happened.
