Pics of my busted azz Z
My car is being repaired by a local Nissan shop, not an independent one. I doubt that they would outsource for the parts. But, does anyone know how I might get my insurance co. to convince the Nissan shop to order the parts from Performance? If that would speed things along I'm all for it.
Just called the body shop to see if they could buy the parts third-party from Jason @ Performance Nissan. Although he admitted it was a good idea, he preferred to get all the parts warrantied through the manufacturer. This, he explained, would eliminate any problems that might occur if the parts accidentally got damaged in shipping or whatever.
So, Jason, I tried for ya brother

Tell the shop that they should go ahead and get the Unibody work done.
That might spead the thing up some. They dont need the new parts to put the car on the frame machine and make the pulls that will be needed. Pretty heafty shot on the right rear.
Good Luck.

Hope they get started next week. The shop manager seems to think it will take close to 3 weeks to finish once they start. The guy who hit me has til Aug. 3rd to respond to the insurance claim or I will be covered under my uninsured motorist policy. I don't know if that means they won't start work until then or if it just means that once it is done, I won't have to pay my deductible.
I had similar damage to my car. Replaced rear right fender, bumper cover, and worked out something in the rear right fender. Took just short of three weeks. Since those rear fenders are welded on, it takes a lot of time to cut out the old one and weld in the new one. Not cheap, but good luck!

I'll be impressed if it gets done in under a month...
I had to wait about a month to get a hatch in. It took 3 shipments from Nissan to get an UNdamaged hatch. Apparently Nissan does not package all their parts very well for the long trek from Japan...
Good Luck!

This is a long shot but thought I'd ask...
Do you think there's a chance I could score an aftermarket Nismo bumper as a replacement instead of the OEM one, and, which one(if any) would match the rest of the car without sticking out like a sore thumb? I'm just sick of waiting and scrambling for solutions.

I went to a well known shop out here in Vegas to get my body work done. They don't lie when they say it takes a long time to acomplish good work. My Accord was in the shop for one month to replace two fenders and remold the bumper, no frame work.
When I woke up and found the damage (hit & run).

Benj...you say your un-insured motorist coverage will kick in. Do you know that your comp and collision covers you if you do not have un-insured? Double coverage my friend.
In other words...If a guy with no insurance hits you and you have no un-insured motorist coverage you comp-n-collision pays.
