Unhappy Pics of my busted azz Z

Well, today i went to the body shop to see if they had started to repair it. The answer is, not really. They got the bumper off and the lights. Now it's a waiting game until the replacement parts come in from Japan.

Come in from Japan? don't Nissan stock those body parts in the states for just such occasions?

According to the people I have spoken with, no. What's worse, the Nissan plant is just "down the road" in Smyrna TN which is not 45 min. from my house. I originally thought the parts would come from there. I was wrong, I guess.

You'll be waiting a long time to get back in your car then. I estimate it will be 4 months before you get it again

Ummm... how do you figure 4 months? Unless they plan on walking it to the Japanese coast and then sending it by canoe, it should only take a couple of weeks.

Body shops are notoriously slow in reparing cars in a timely fashion. I bet you they'll give you some reason why the part has not yet arrived yet. And once it does they'll delay even further. The better the shop the longer the delay. Especially if the shop is well known for doing good work. They are probably dealing with alot of cars that take priority over yours. I learned this the hard way when I had my previous car body kit painted and installed. I should have known better when I saw 4 porsches, 2 jags and 1 ferrari in the shop.

Well, the body shop manager, the service manager and the sales manager happen to be family members of a good friend of mine. They say two weeks once the parts are ordered. For ANY part for this car to take 4 months is laughable.

parts are always on their way to the US, they don't put it on a ship as you're ordering them

Am I being lied to? Just to bring everyone up to speed, my car has been in the shop in this condition since July 6th. It's driving me nuts. Does this sound like a case of the drag *** on their part? Please tell me if you guys have a tip on how I might be able to speed this up.

I don't understand how all of these replacement parts could take so long. I have read about 4 or 5 posts now where guys say that they have waited "X" amount of time for something to be provided by Nissan. What the Hell!?!?

wow that looks a lot like my car when it was crushed.

it took about 3-4 months to get my car back from the shop they had to wait for parts for a while.

but it was worth it when it came out.. well i had to bring it back like 3 more times after to get it 98% right but hey close enough.

this is the car after.
