Funny, in that same storm (Mardi Gras this year) I was a few hours ahead of you on I-10 and had this exact same accident. I'm sure some of you guys remember the pictures.

It was in Florida outside of Tallahasse (sp?). If there was one thing I learned in the rain it was the importance of keeping your speed down in the rain, especially on those crappy stock tires! They are summer tires not designed for the wet. Sooooooo many Zs will end up this way because of the problem. I was piloting a touring model at the time and VDC did nothing. Granted a guy did cut me off to cause the situation and it wasn't really even raining (light drizzle at most, the rain had passed...but if I could only impart the importance and understanding of how your are not invincible on the road while doing that speed in the rain, I am sure I could save at least one Z driver a serious accident.

I will freely admit I was completely naive to the immediate danger regarding the weather before that accident. No amount of autocross or understanding of a car's handling abilities will help you at those speeds, with that number of variables. You are in God's hands at that point.

Unfortunately, everyone needs to experience this for him/herself to really get it beat into their head!
