Why NOT to buy a Z

1) Just because I have third party rims on my car I shouldn't be turned away from service completely - especially when the sales staff knew I was going to put them on the car. (This is the biggest issue)
2) Tires shouldn't need replaced after 20k of use
3) Brakes shouldn't need replaced after 20k of use
4) Tire Pressure indicators shouldn't cost $250 and break so easily (and if they do then they shouldn't be on the car)
5) The doors shouldn't ding just by touching them barely. Again, I dinged one of them myself and it didn't take much. I"m surprised I don't have more of them.
I've owned several brand new cars and I've never had as many problems with one as soon as I have with this one. And I didn't baby those cars nearly as much as I have this one.

Re your points, in order: 1. I wholeheartedly concur. This isn't NNA's fault; you've run into some crappy dealers who've treated you shabbily, and despite your anger, you've let 'em get away w/it and kept coming back for more. Take some assertiveness training and/or get some legal advice on how to represent yourself in small claims court (sue the dealer, not Nissan; please tell me you didn't sign an arbitration agreement when you bought the car).
2. My wife and I have owned 4 high performance cars, and neither of us has EVER had a set of tires last over 15 or 16k mi., and have worn out sets at soon as 10k.
3. Check out other posts on the forum (or forums for high performance cars of other makes), and you'll see that 20k mi. is within the normal range for brake pad replacement.
4. TPS is new technology, forced into service before ready by new federal regs taking effect in the coming years. Again, get on forums for other makes and you'll see that they're ALL full of complaints about crappy sensors (defective; not working at all or misreading pressure) and/or having probs w/vibration, alignment and/or balance due to the TPS.
5. Just by "touching them"? C'mon, dude, it's not that bad; the hardcore modders are constantly grousing about the weight of the car, and if anything, want lighter weight trunk, hood and door panels. Some of them are in a running competition to see how much weight they can REMOVE from the car. "No ding" doors=fat, overweight, sluggish handling.
It's only my opinion, and of course, those are like certain bodily orifices, but you might have been happier w/the Z if you waited a year for them to work out some of the bugs. Even so, I think you probably would have been "happiest" with a slightly less performance-oriented car. I do feel sorry for all the crap you've had to put up with from the dealers (and, let's be honest, "Discount Tire," too), however.
If you trade for a different car, please post and let us know what you got and how you like it. Good luck!
That same dealers you went also sell other brands. (probably volvo or others). So, volvo sucks! ?
By the way,
I haven't got any dings. I love the public.
I never stepped on nail. I love my self.
I haven't had any problem with tire pressure. I love nissan.
350z has issues with tire feathering, and I got a full serviced with warranties. I love the dealer.

No matter how many problems a Z has, it will never look like that!

EVO's cost more here in SoCal (stupid markup), plus the local dealership (Huntington Beach Mitsu's manager) treated me like crap (wouldn't let me testdrive it b/c I don't look like I can afford it).. he didn't think we were really buying a car .. so we bought one across the street
I like the way the EVO looks .. but Mitsu reliability & customer service (or complete lack of) scares me.

Motor Trend tested new EVO RS at 0 - 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. Try that in your 350Z.
Base price of RS is $27,000. It is a stripper with no rear wing, no radio, no carpeting in trunk, wind up windows, etc. It's butt ugly and won't attract the attention of the cops. But it is quicker than a $50,000+ Corvette. Go figure.

If you get that many miles out of a set of tires on a sports car and you can document it, Nissan and Bridgestone might want to talk to you.

Have driven all 3 cars, so I can honestly make that statement.NzZ

Good grief! You're either jerking us around (my guess), or you'd need to describe your driving style in a Tirerack survey as "sedated". The way I drive, I put a set of Michelins warranted for 80k miles on an old land barge Olds Toronado I owned, and still blasted thru 'em in 40k. Longest lasting tires of any kind I ever had.
