Bonz,

Whoa that was harsh...but SO true . It had to take an "Old Fogey" to lay it down straight . We were temporarily blinded by 350ZPrincess's female status. Like EnthusiastDrive said, we would've spared no sympathy if this were an 18 y/o male counterpart

Exactly. Looks like we are getting the story she told Dad that night ???

Ahhh, sorry but it is NOT theft since she GAVE him the keys and now Dad is going to suffer for it.

I REALLY hate to have to say this again, but TEENAGERS DO NOT BELONG IN THIS KIND OF CAR!!! ESPECIALLY if Daddy buys it for them.

Dad buys kid a Beemer. Kid "hates it". Kid "begs" dad for a Z. Day buys kid a 350Z coupe. Still not good enough. Kid then gets roadster.

Doesn't ANYONE see anything wrong with this?

"i was having my brakes fixed at nissan and i sat down with a guy and it worked out that a roadster would be less money for me per month.."

Nice. Getting your brakes fixed and on a whim (as if you were buying a new pair of shoes or something) you decide to just go ahead and buy a new car (your 3rd in 2 years).

Classic dealer ploy to get more $$$. Don't you realize that by simply negotiating a lower monthly payment, you'll just be paying A LOT more for the car in the long run? Oops! I mean YOUR DAD, will be paying a lot more in the long run. Salesman always try to distract you away from how much you'll be paying OVERALL, buy only discussing your MONTHLY payment.

Call me an old fogey, but this has WRONG written all over it.
too bad i pay for my cars myself without daddy... just bc there under his name doesnt mean he pays for them.. and for all ur info i didnt give any1 my keys.. giving them and having them taken from you are 2 different things.

Ok, tell us then how you get all your money if it isn't from daddy.

first...explain how he "took" your keys?

second...if you pay for the cars...why don't you pay for your insurance. why aren't the cars under your name? you are giving your dad one hell of a insurance problem. if you are capable of paying for 4 cars...why not insurance?

but...i believe you that you pay for your car. dad deposits money into your account so you can "think" you are paying for it. makes you feel a little more responsible, right? or...do you have a trust fund that you are dipping into? explain how, at 17, you are making enough money to pay for car after car after car...without the help of daddy that is?

so, dad got you the bmw...and you got the other cars? why did you have to beg for the z? if "you" were going to buy it...why would you have to ask your dad? dad got you out of the lease? why didn't you take the responsibility and do it yourself? you seem to rely on dad a lot. time to cut the umbilical cord.

nobody is buying your story. you should have come up with a better one than that.

return the car and get a bike...or a scooter...or a bus pass.

I'm not buying any of it. First day on this board. Big disaster with "her" car so she thought she'd come here and tell us about it. It's looking more and more like a troll if you ask me.

Just a suggestion, these guys already made up their mind even if they haven't met you or understood your story. Best thing to do is just walk away and participate in other threads or other section of the forum. Fortunately they also have the attention span of a hamster so it'll be quickly forgotten.

What an intro. I actually feel sorry for people who try to defend a position and get hammered. Of course, I agree with all of you, but sometimes I wonder, after we chase these people off with criticism, what they could have contributed in other threads. Oh well.

I think everyone is being a bit harsh on her... Bonz... that is a bold statement to make that a 18 year old should not be driving this car.. i now work as a realtor at 18 and work my *** off to drive my 350.... and i take damn good care of my car as seen in my pictures and writeups...

true some people do have money.. but if you had the opportunity to give your child everything they ever wanted and had enough money to make it so that they would not have to work for the rest of there lives wouldnt you? I know that is what im working twords.. while still spoiling myself when i have children i want to KNOW that they will be well off and not have to worry and go through the same stuff that i had to.. and i will teach them a lesson about stuff in different ways then making them work there asses off.. maybe have them get a job and match whatever they make a month or something like that... but in no way would i ever make a "loser" child.

also i wouldnt take this as a im being weak because shes a girl thing... boy or girl they should be treated the same with minor changes due to sex stuff... but yeah... I personally will believe her story for now. even though it does have quite a few holes in it. and it is her fault.

It's interesting how 350ZPrincess started the thread by lamenting how she is the poor victim of all the "scumbags" out there. Nevermind that she had the cell phone number of the "thief" who "stole" her car keys. Perhaps one of the "5 guys" who were "surrounding" her could have verified her completely implausible story. But hell, why go through the lengthy and boring process of a criminal investigation to get your car fixed when you know that daddy will pay for it?

It seems that for every smart, responsible, respectful person you meet, there are 2 worthless, ineffectual, spoiled brats pumped so full of their parent's cash that they can't think straight. I'm so disillusioned with people that I'm finding it hard to participate in the political process this year. I used to think that our politics were stagnant and ineffectual because of parties and entrenched interests; I've realized, however, that the blame lies with *dumb people* who don't possess the werewithal or the responsibility to guide the country in the right direction. 350ZPrincess is of voting age, and I'm sure that she's going to make an informed and thoughtful decision this November...assuming she makes one at all.

How is one supposed to maintain their faith in democracy when one is surrounded by such people?

Default Guys let it go...

Gosh you guys are so harsh. It's almost as if none of us had ever made a poor decision about something before. If the story is true, the girl already had her Z smashed up...that's probably torture enough. The site of a mangled Z brings me physical pain...I try to avoid those threads at all cost.

As for her being spoiled, it all depends on your definition of spoiled. I've met 30-somethings who've never had a job, yet drive a Ferrari that their father bought them. At least 350ZPrincess has a job...and she sounds like she laments what has transpired. I'm guessing she's already taking enough $hit from her parents, her insurance agent, her friends, etc...

On a side note, Dr. Bonz your Z is unbelievable. My favorite brick, and probably my favorite Z overall. I can't think of anything worthwhile that your car doesn't have.
