Default Sorry to disagree.

I may be jumping into a storm here, considering that this 12 yr old thing is probably a joke but....

It is possible that you have the money to buy these things, independent of your parents/guardians but I cant beleive that these business will enter into any contract for the sale of an item direct to you.

A) As a minor you would have the right to void you contracts, that were not co signed with an adult. That means you could pay then drive the z for a couple of years and then ask for your money back before your turned 18. No respectable dealer would even think about selling a car to a child and have this happen.

B) Second is the liability of the dealer for providing you a dangerous instrumentality. IMOa 12 yr old has neither the self control nor driving skills to safely drive a Z, and the dealer knows this. No respected dealer would sell you any car, including a Z knowing the people you are going to kill with it, will be sueing them, when the attys find out who sold the car.

C) If the auto is sold to you it must be registered in your name,. As the owner, who has no driver;s licence, the state would never give you a tag or registration in your own name /wo a driver's licence.

D) No insurance company would enter into an insurance contract with a solo child. No way. It cost an arm and leg for the avg 22 yr old to own their own car, due to single driver rates. It is IMO impossible to beleive that an insurance company would issue a policy to primary driver/owner who has no drivers license or has no ability enter into contracts.

E): No leading institution would lead you money for the reason noted above. No trustee of any trust fund I have ever heard of would let you withdraw that much money with out asking why.
While it may be possible that if you had that much money, and you wanted to put the car away in storage as an investment or for your future use, they might approve if you were mature enough. The fact that you are posting this here now, shows you don't have that level of maturity.

If you have independent sources of monies, trust fund etc then good for you. I suggest you try not to squander that person hard earned cash, and along with our time tyring to convince us of your status.

I also dont always agree with the "give them everything and they will get spoiled" no flames intended. It all depends on how the rewards are presented to the child. If the child has to work for these things regardless of how much they work, IMO it can show the child that they must work to get things. This can have a positive effect on them, having these nice things. They may work hard to keep them. IMO there is no set in stone formula for a parent to follow, except to make sure the child understands that hard work = reward. Grades, sports or elbow grease they all qualify IMO.

If you really are 12 yrs old , then you probably wont understand a thing I am saying. The best part of this is, you will grow out of it.

True maturity is IMO the ability to discipline yourself to take the harder path because it is the right thing to do when logic tells you opt for the easiest.

The problem is that youth is wasted on the young.

well first off, this thread is a joke! maybe you should read the first few posts to understand what is going on! Basically I am tired of hearing this sad story! The only reason that i posted my bus. is if you remember Dr. Bonz asked me because he was just wondering. This had nothing to do with the thread.

You can't honselty think this was MAYBE real?? c'mon
No one said I had any trust funds or whatever, this was just something Dr. Bonz wondered concerning a different post in a different thread. I am not trying to convince or aware anyone of my "status" it was a question, and I replied, yet again having nothing to do with this thread!

I definitely understand everything you said, as I would say the same thing if this 12yr old thing was true! I think you just got a little ahead of yourself by not reading the post fully. if you did, maybe you just rushed to post? i don't know, i am just trying to let you know what is going on I guess.

I guess in the long run, I am immature, irresponsable, disrespectful... AND can't see over the steering wheel.

IF this was true though, I think this would be one SMART 12 year old!!

I basically started this thread because I was tired of hearing the teenagers say they paid for everything, etc...
I am not 12, i am 20 (yes still young) but old enough to buy a car in my name, own the businesses I own, and get my very own insurance, which actually is 200 a month for full coverage, and I am 20!!

By 17 not only did I know how to do that, I could even convince chicks it was a good thing to do for me.

I don't spend much time in this particular forum, but compared to the others I frequent (with the exception of the racing forum), some of the people here are way to serious.

Cat was just pulling your chains guys, nothing to get worked up about.

No one ever bought me a car or helped with it. I bought my first one when I was 16. I have been blessed with many nice cars. I have spent all my money on cars even when it was not prudent.

I can afford my cars now. All of us have a different way of doing things.

I think it is very cool for a woman to put together and have a hot looking Z. Not 12 of course, but 16+ is good with me.

the more women with Z's the better off we all are.

Cat,
Im 12 too. I trayded in my mountan bike for a brand new 5AT blue 350z. I like it cause it's shiny. My dad says if I can climb the rope all the way to the top in gym class, he'll buy me a ferari. wut color shuld I get? I like Red if the car is really low to the ground. When I turn 15, Im gonna trade in my Z for a fleet of lamborgini's cause i'll have a paper-route making $120/month. What do you think my dads insurance will cost me. he'll make me pay for my gas, so i'm gonna save $3 out of my allowance evry week to cover that.

It's cool being real young and having a fast car, isnt it? i specially like to go on internet and tell everyone that i payed for my car, even tho I couldnt if I tried. It makes me feel cool.

P.S. Where do you go to middle-school?

oh yeah!!! Those Mclarens are cool. I specially like how you sit in the middle so your friends can sit close to the doors. and that air scoop on the roof keeps the inside nice and cool when you're stuck behind school buses.

also, i just got a Fischer price My First Mod. It's a seven inch fully functional etch-a-sketch that goes in the console......Talk about cool!!! I can make lines that look just like a nav map!

What apparently escapes some younger folk is that we all pay/paid for the Z. We did it without mommy and daddy's help, they didn't pay $7,000 down to match our downpayment. We know, you're proud that you're paying for something since, for the last 17 years, you haven't paid for anything and we're all pround of you Sparky.

Not only do we pay the monthly note on the car, we also pay for insurance, and the $2,500/mo. mortgage on the house that has a garage that the Z sits in, snug and warm at night. We also pay the water, electricity, cable, telephone, cellphone, and all the other 1,000 bills and taxes that seem to come every month.

We pay for the clothes we wear and the washer that washes them. And when the washer breaks, we try to fix it ourselves. And once we've taken it apart and can't get it back together, we call someone else to fix it. And when they tell us we're screwed and it can't be fixed, we go to Bob's Washerama and buy a new one. Not the cheap one that men would probably buy, but the front loading kind with the window like at the laudromats that costs more than it should. Why? Because our wives want it. And they also want jewelry, which we buy to make up for the fact that we spend so much on modifications for the Z.

So you'll have to excuse the fact that no one cares that you pay for your Z, because no one gives a rat's donkey. We all pay for it (and everything else), big whooopie. Only difference is that we think you're nuts as you're spending money that you should be saving so that one day you too can pay for insurance, and the $2,500/mo. mortgage, and the water, electricity, cable, telephone, cellphone, and all the other 1,000 bills and taxes that seem to come every month, and the clothes you wear and the washer, and the front loader at Bob's Washerama, and the jewelry because you spent so much on modifications for the Z, etc. We also wonder what the hell is wrong with your parents (unless the are filthy rich and just gave you the car), but that's a whole 'nuther topic, and honestly we don't care about that all that much either.

chicken,

maybe once i'm not attending six classes a semester i'll have time to get a real job and then i will be paying for my own house and health insurence and ect...

what were you doing when you were 19 besides paying for "water, electricity, cable, telephone, cellphone, and all the other 1,000 bills and taxes that seem to come every month."?

look guys, i'm not trying to look cool or anything because i paid for most of my own car... i'm just sayin that it wasn't as easy as many people here seem to think... you think it's harder to afford one when you're older? if i could work a 40 hour week right now to pay all my bills, i'd gladly do it but i go to this place called a "university" which will help me get a job that i can work at to pay all of my bills... untill then, thank mom and dad for covering the things you do

I know my little name on the site doesnt exactly conform to what I am about to say, however! I read through half of the posts in this thread and am I the only one bothered by all of this. You initially post how you are tired of hearing all of the BS about kids saying they bought their own cars etc etc... and boasting about how they can afford things, and then you go on telling us how well off and sucessful you are. Maybe we should switch names on the site. I cant speak for everyone, but I dont think many people like reading about how great you are any more than they like hearing the threads you are complaining about seeing. Don't get me wrong, it is great that you are doing well in life and whatnot, I just dont know why this was aimed at a group of people acting one way and then turned into the exact same thread you claimed to hate reading? Am I the only one who feels this way?

I don't think it, I know it. When you have no expenses, it's not all that difficult to make car payments. It gets trickier once you get that 30 year mortgage and also have to be responsible for the wellbeing of other people, children, etc. Now, don't mistake my post as actually caring either way about the issue. I was simply explaining why many of us aren't impressed. Personally I could care less about how you spend your (or daddy's) money, if you pay for your car or if it was given to you, etc. I'm not here to hate...

Chicken is right. I make okay money but with no kids, cheap apartment, no wife, no extraneous expenses, I can let the Z car payment be 20-25% of my take home salary.

It IS easier to pay for "toys" when you can let 50% of your income go to indulgences.

Hell my coworker's day care bill = my salary.

Alright let's post about happy stuff.... like smoking that Ford Taurus off the line... YA!!!!
