HI EVERYONE FINALLY GOT MY ORDER NUMBER. BUT COULD NOT
GET VIN NUMBER YET. HOPE FULLY THE CAR WILL BE HERE SOON. CAN NOT WAIT. IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING CLOSER.
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW LONG BEFOR DEALER CAN GET VIN NUMBER? I WANT MY ZZZZZZZZZZZ.

 

congrats, i dont know how long before vin, but my wait altogethor was 5 months, which is short compared to the general public.

once you do get your vin, it shouldnt be more than 1 month.

Im confused about my order... I was supposed to see my Z mid October... and thats now and theres no Z. I put a deposit down on probably what was a cancelled preorder begining of September. The dealer told me it was due to arrive mid october. Since then I never asked for an order # or my Vin. Today I just got off the phone with the dealer inquiring about when I am going take delievery and they claim according to the east coast port, my Z will be delayed another month, mid Nov. I then asked for a VIN and was given one. The port claims the delay is due to the strikes that are going on\went on in CA. The dealer and I don't understand how a west coast strike would affect an east coast port... other than the boat which was delivering Z's to CA got delayed and then that boat was delayed continuing on to East Coast or it was delayed going back to get my Z from Japan. Confused as to how the whole process works. All I know is the dealer is claiming another month and that he has other Zs that were also due to come in October that are also delayed.

Any insight appreciated!

Actually, the dealer could have probably given you the Order # when he placed the order. Here is a comment I made in a similar thread:

I met with the salesman today and he went through a computer program menu and several screens and filtered out a listing of his Z orders with an Order # beside each one and the codes for the options for each order.

What's your Order #? If it's W212### you are probably looking at a mid-Dec to mid-Jan delivery (from what we have figured out). VIN will come later.......when car gets a lot closer. Hang in there!

Give this guy a break! He's just trying to find out when he might expect his car. The word "pre-order" wouldn't mean "jack" to him either. This Forum is not just for pre-orders. We all hope the pre-order people won't have to wait much longer; we hope everyone won't have to wait much longer. But to say this guy's order number doesn't mean "jack" is not very fair. He's new to the ordering program and he's excited about his car. So what.

 

I agree. Give the guy a break. I too placed my order in September and yes, I know that I am not a part of the pre-order program! So what! Those of us that just ordered our Zs have been pretty much told the same thing, to expect our cars mid to late December. The pre-order people have no way of knowing whether we will get our cars in December or not. AT this point, no one knows for sure.

Don't get angry and nasty just because you guys chose to order your cars MONTHS ago and you are still waiting! It seems to me that those of us that chose to wait will, in the end, have a much shorter wait time than you guys anyway.

 

I put my dep. on aug 26th. I just got back from the dealer. the manager told me that my car was ordered on OCT 7th, also showed me the order and that it would be here end of NOV.

Sorry, PARP96; I called you a "guy". Sounds like a great combination: brick & ivory. Keep us posted on the progress of your order. Looks like those of us who ordered around this same time-frame will have a very happy New Year (if it doesn't get here by Christmas)! Don't forget to plan for some pics of the car when you get it.

There's another thread that had everyone figuring out what letter meant what delivery. However, having a W order number myself, the order was placed the beginning of October, will _likely_ have a build date of November, and may make it here in Dec, but don't be too sad if it takes till mid January.

Since you've got an order number now, head on over to scarfemon's VIN soup and get yourself on the list! It doesn't help things move any faster, but it makes you feel better to see how many others are at least waiting with you. Misery loves company and all that... <grin>

Mine will not come in till January at the earliest for sure. I'll patiently wait while I gradually put my current car back to stock.

 

I put down A $1000 deposit Aug 10 and my Brickyard Touring was ordered Sept.5. The dealer gave me a "V" order number and a bit over a week ago I called NNA. No VIN yet but the guy told me delivery was probably going to be Nov. The dealer still tells me Dec. I'm excited either way. The anticipatory excitement is part of the fun and i'm enjoying it.
