6500. I usually shift before that though. The 6500 is for emergencies only (ie. some idiot beside me thinks he and his car are all that and I need to prove him wrong)! LOL

3800 for now, during break in. After that I will set it just before redline, probably 6400 or so. I love the fact that it can be set or shut off. It's little details like that that put this car over the top.

I am set at 6000 as I want to see the flashing at 5500 and will probably shift at 6000 which is when it stays solid (i.e margin of error). If you hit the readline, the car will cut out and it takes a while to get back up to momentum.

I set mine at 6500, that way it starts blinking at 6000 which is a reasonable place to shift. When it goes steady, I know I am close to hitting the rev limiter and there is no extra power to be had eith higher revs anyway.

Yea, i tried setting it to redline and it didn't give me enough time to shift... I was racing a 330CI and I only beat him by a carlength to 40mph (Was trying to merge but he tried to cut me off). I hit the rev limiter in 1st gear was the problem... So now I have it set to 6000RPM

Why would you care about peak torque? That's not really a meaningful point: peak power is what matters. There's not a lot of power available at the peak torque of 4800 RPM, so if you want to be quick, you will shift a lot higher up, like at the power peak at 6200.

I agree you see the light come on and bam the rev limiter hits and stalls the hell out of the car, I'am going to try setting it lower for sure

does anyone else think it is wierd that the light gets less noticeable when you are supposed to shift? It seems to me that it would be better if it came on steady below the shift point, and then started flashing at and above.

Can anyone verify this?

I have an Enthusiast on the way and I was hoping it had one.
I was under the impression that all models had them.

I got mine set at 5900 because I don't shift fast and I need the time delay so I don't hit the rev limiter.

What PDF are you referring to? I have the manual on PDF, and searched for "shift light" and the only reference I found was in the section that details how the shift light works. It didn't say anything about which models get the light, only that is was available with MT. Maybe it is on all the cars?

The enthusiast model that I rented a couple months back did have the shift light, and I agree with TJZ, I think the base has it as well.

Yes, my Base Model has it too - set at 4000 rpm for break-in period.
