About two years ago I was on my way back from myrtle beach and I was tired from driving from South Carolina to Maryland. At this Time I was driving the Eclipse. Once I got to downtown Baltimore I was driving very slow because I was tired as hell. Then I noticed that there was someone tailgating me, but it was a three lane road and it was like 1:00 in the morning. So, I told my wife, " I guess they will go around me". But this wanna be thug pulled up next to me at the next light and said" You gat that fast car I hope you ****ing drive it". He has some one in the passanger seat and some one in the back. I was tired and frustrated so I said. "What in the **** are you talking about!!!". So we're arguing and driving slowly down the street, my wife is pulling my arm to make me stop feeding into these ******* remarks. So at the next light they all get out and come toward my car.Two guys in the front and some ignorant ***** was sitting in the back. As In attempt to get out of the car they rush over and tries to pin me between the door. So, when I got clear of the door I was swinging at one guy the other guy got a few punches in at my face from the side. Meanwhile , my wife is screaming. Some truck driver came along and jump out of his truck with a 2X4. The ignorant girl, yelled come on, and they fled. The trucker said you were doing okay for it to be two guys, but eventually they would have got me down, or stabbed me, or shot me since it was a bad neighborhood . So, that night I promised my wife that I would never put her in a situation like that again, and that's what I was trying to do this morning when this idiot started his road rage. I hate driving into the city becasue of the **** like that!!!!!!

I agree with you, and that 's what I was trying to do, but this idiot was just relentless. Anyone on this forum that knows me know that I would never start anything with anyone, but I won't put up with some ******* either.

Sly,

I would have left that Rodeo at the intersection if there was room to do so...or when there was a chance to do so. end of story.

Ignorant driver history - wife happy - and your on your way to another great day!

Interesting that he was waiting for you at the other intersection.

Some people are haters.... I own a Acura TL and just got my DB Z last week. I noticed in the Z on a few occassions already people on my tail and at intersections they are like up very close.
Never happens when in my TL.

Watch out for that Rodeo....! Enjoy your Z!

If you got a fast car, i think a good way is to flick him off and take off. So he'll just be pissed but there's no way he can catch you so he'll just be even more pissed. But if you get caught at a red light, you are screwed.

That cuts both ways.

I make every effort to be a courteous and careful driver. I will avoid a confrontation if at all possible. But a couple of times in the last 38 years of driving, I've had to ventilate the vehicles of maniac drivers who assaulted me with their vehicles. Had no compunction about doing it either. Fortunately, I didn't have to kill either one of them, but if they hadn't very rapidly backed off, I wouldn't have hesitated to do so.

This is not the sort of situation where you need to be a "manly man" and offer to duke it out. This is an assualt with a deadly weapon on your person, and lethal force is a legal and legitimate response in that situation if you have no reasonable or safe way to flee.

Note, there *will* be reprecussions. Expect to have to deal with the cops and maybe the DA. But if the maniac did swerve at you repeatedly with his car, and the laws in your state are reasonable (unfortunately not the case in all states), you'll be ok in the end.

If I see that guy again which I have a feeling I will during my morning commute I'm writing down his tags and reporting the incident to authorities. Even tough it happened a few days ago I still get pissed when I think about.

Congrats on your Daytona Blue Z. My wife really likes that color.

I couldn't because i was pinned in. This idiot came down the right shoulder once his Ram attempt failed.Pulled up about 6 inches to tha passenger side and started yelling **** you, **** you at me. I think the guy was mad because at the first light when he sped off I shrugged my shoulder and smiled and just got behind him. Maybe the guy has some kind of self esteem problem.

I decided to drive the Jetta to work from now on. I'm not saying that the car was the reason, because I think that guy would have behaved that way regardless of what car I was in.

IMHO, I think that driving is 85% Defensive. What I'm saying is that the majority of the time that we are in our cars we have to really observe what the other driver is doing. I'm afraid that one day someone on a cellphone is going to hit me from the back. We've all experienced the near mix bumper smash, looked in our rear view and notice that in all this backed up traffic the person behind you are on the cell phone and is not paying attention to how close your car is to them.

I don't know if it's a thing here in MD/VA/DC area but road rage has increased. It seems like the Z has some kind of a mess with me magnet. I have experienced that for a year since I got the Z. I just don't know what's up their a$$. You played it cool, just let it go and try to avoid the situation if there is an alternate route. It 's not worth the trouble!!! A couple of times I've been confronted, all I say is take the first swing and your a$$ is mine in court! I keep the Z in the garage and use it during the weekends, my good old pick-up truck gets me where I need to go. Be careful out there!
