Heavens-to-Mergatroid, even! Z Won't Fit In Garage.
And so.. after a heady 365 mile jaunt from birthing point to home, I approach my condo in my brand spankin new Z car and begin to very slowly make the transition from the street, across the sidewalk, and over the lip to my downslope driveway leading to my secure underground parking space below my condo.
Whoa! Jump back Jack! Having a slight premonition, I reduced my speed to 1/4 mph as I proceeded over the lip.
#$%^&* ! S-c-r-a-p-e, STOP! You gotta be sh?tting me!
As my front tires begin the decline, my brand new, low slung rocket, won't clear the the lip, choosing instead to protest loudly of contact with the cement half way to the rear tires. Dirty Rassenfrassel!!!
As Martha Stewart did NOT, say until very recently, "This is NOT a good thing!"
I live in a high density, city neighborhood where, even if one could find consistent street parking, the street is too narrow for comfort, and more importantly, doing so would invite a rapid reprise of "Gone in 60 Seconds" !
I am bummed to say the least. So, I am currently exploring the possibility of building a couple portable ramps to ease the transition. Since I live in a condo building, this inconvenient solution is temporary at best.
Being highly enamored of my new ride and a dyed in the wool, Z afficionado (my 4th), I'm just gonna HAVE to sell my Condo.
Seem drastic? Naw, man! "Z Be Back To The Future!".
Since I sometimes exhibit the problem solving talent of an ice cube, any and all suggestions for a creative and effective solution are highly welcome.
Good cruisin to all!

This is what I'm afraid of in reverse. I've got a decent slope up on my driveway, and one of those curbs without the curb cut at the bottom. I'm afraid I'll scrape a Z going in, too.
The good news in my case is I can probably pour some concrete in the dip to make it less severe. My current car scrapes the tailpipes if I back out straight, but is OK if I angle. I'm worried about a Z being lower, but the good news is, it has the wheels at the edges which gives it a bit better angles.
Good luck on finding a solution.

Unfortunately, entering driveway at angle is not an option.
Hey, it's amazing what interesting, non-related gems one stumbles across when doing a web search. Before you pour concrete to resolve the curb issue, take a look at this product.

Too bad I'm not a Costco member (they are listed as a retailer)and can't see how much they sell them for. I may have to check around with some of the others listed.
Anybody a Costco member and has seen these?
Are you thinking these may keep the wheels up on yours long enough to clear your grinding point?
In reviewing the site again, it appears the only product stocked by Costco is the EZ-Rider car ramp for about $20. You may have to call the company to ask for any US sources for CurbRamp.
For information on ordering, call Shercom at 306-665-1819 or check the company’s web site at www.shercomindustries.com.
Good luck. Wish my dilemma were this easy to solve. For me, it looks like two 2x12's tapered at each end. We shall see.

I got some of their ez-risers car ramps for changing the oil on my Z. I couldn't drive up the ramps because they contacted the bumper. I had to create wooden mini ramps to put in front of these ramps.
The ramps are very durable and made of recycled rubber. They are mostly solid rubber, with some indentation in the bottom.
The curb ramps sound cool. I'm going to see if Calgary allows them.

I don't know that I want to look at black strips out in my driveway all the time. If they aren't ultra cheap, some Quickcrete will probably be the long term solution.

TalonZ...
The thought of backing in did transit the windmills of my mind, however, since I am high centering in the approximate middle between the front and rear tires, I was not sure it would make any difference which way the car was pointing.
However, at this point I am willing to try most anything. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll report back.

not that it matters, I am having to build a three car garage with a hot plate attached.
My old one is too small with a 68 Firebird and all the crap I have saved over the years. (but honey this is worth saving. They are lug nuts from a mid 70s Corvette.) I am sorry to hear about the scraping problems you all are having but I will make sure I don't design any dips, lips, or slip ups into the new garage. This new one will have a seperate room for the Z so it will not be in any danger of getting hit by flying cars parts or wrenches.
