Default Lightweight radiator.

I keep looking for ways to lighten the front of the car. My last idea is lightweight radiator!

Can somebody clarify what is construction of stock radiator and how much does it weight? Can we shave some of that weight by installing aluminum (or titan?) radiator? The radiator look pretty big and heavy, but I never really had a chanse to find out it's weight.

The OEM radiator is aluminum, and I can't imagine you're going to find a lighter one.

Lighter battery and/or relocating it. You could swap the engine to a SR20.

Already did (the battery). 24 pounds shaved off.

Lightweight headlights assembly can save another 20+ pounds. Nismo race 350z style would be great... Just dreaming

How much does our engine weight?

The bumper beam is made of lightweight aluminum, maybe 10 lbs.
I don't think 10lbs is worth the reduced saftey of the vehicle in a crash.

UR underdrive pulley 4 set is worth like 8lbs.

how bout a light weight altenator? kinetix plenum, tit strut bar?

did you take off the plastic engine, battery, and brake fluid covers, should take off 3-4 lbs.

drain your washer fluid, thats about 10lbs.

Till the first turn, than off to the grass. We are not talking about drag racing here.

don't think he is asking for suggestions on street driven mods but more for the race track.. so with or without a front bumper beam a crash in that enviorment is going to be costly...

the only pulley reduction is the crank pulley... the accessory pulleys weight the same... ok well an ounce or two different...

the stock radiator is light enough... any other radiator available for this car has larger coolant capacity, so it will weight more...

the head lights are already very light weight...

the lighter strut tower bars flex with less than 100lbs of pressure put on them when the stock doesnt show any signs of flexing up to 700lbs...

lightweight flywheel & clutch (tilton only 16lbs total)
high flow cats or test pipes (10-14lbs)
ceramic coated mild steel headers (5lbs lighter then stainless steel)
light weight wheels (nismo 18lbs / enkei rpf1 17lbs)
light weight tires (ra1 etc...)

get rid of engine cover / battery cover and plastic surrounding...

move battery to the rear hatch...

new suspension (coil overs)

remove aircondtioning compressor and airconditioning

Aren;t their issues with these batteries and getting the cables to reach? I seem to recall some sort of extra kit that allows the stock battery cables to work with this ligher battery.
