HELP!!! I think I locked out my Bose Radio!!!
Preface: Before all of you start in with the comments about how lucky I am to have completely eliminated all of the Bose problems, read what I've stated below, and see if your energy could help me find the answers I so desperately need.
I need help figuring out how to "unlock" the Bose system present in the Touring models. I'm pretty sure I've locked it out somehow.
The history: I was installing a video screen in the empty NAV location, and decided to hook my power leads inline with the factory harness. Checked against the 2000+ Maxima harness diagram, and spliced in the power leads. Now, nothing will turn on, and even the clock doesn't work. I think it's an anti-theft feature, but I'm not sure.
Bottom line: If anybody that owns or has access to the Factory Service Manuals can help me out with diagnosing this problem and fixing it, it's worth $20 sent to you via PayPal , only if your solution works. Also, I will be more than happy to provide favorable ratings for helpful answers.
At a minimum, I need to know (1) how to get the head unit to work again, and (2) what I would need to do to avoid this in the future, or fix it myself.
Edit: almost forgot. Thanks to all of you in advance who'll help me out with my problem.

It really sounds like you blew a fuse. Have you checked that?
Instead of going off of another car's wiring diagram, you should learn how to use a meter or test light. That would help keep you from potentially damaging something expensive.

I checked the fuses. Thanks for the suggestion about the test light - I did use it, but only to confirm that I had power going in the right places. Others on this board have used 2000+Maxima harness information to trace proper wiring, so I took the understanding this information would be accurate.
I'm not perfect. I just want to try and figure out what went wrong.

<------------- IDIOT
After getting a little help from an unnamed source, I checked against the FSM and found that there are multiple fuses for the stereo system.
Turns out, I hadn't checked the audio fuse located under the hood, and that I had only checked the one at the fuse block.
Thanks to all that provided support. I've since ordered the FSM, to avoid this type of situation in the future.

Actually, I did spend the $20. It was worth it to me to have the information promptly, rather than waiting for a week to receive the FSM on CD.
If it wasn't for the FSM, I would have never known that there was a 2nd fuse in the engine compartment for the stereo. I've installed stereos in a lot of cars and trucks, and couldn't remember any of them that had a 2nd fuse separate from the others that I didn't install myself.
Anyway, thanks to all of you for your help and advice. All of you have received positive ratings as a result.
