Default brembos???

Why would Nissan put brembos all the way around on the g35 coupe but only make fronts available on the 350z? Does anyone know if the g35 has a carbon fiber drive shaft like the 350z?

Simple cost savings. 80% of your braking is on the front wheels anyway. Personally, I wouldn't have minded if the Z cost the same as the G35 Coupe if they gave us all these extras. But that's me.

The Brembos are on all four wheels of the track model. 12.75" with four-piston calipers up front, 12.67" with two-piston calipers in back.

Other than that the Brembos just look really cool!

does that mean the brembos don't wear out as fast too?
or would it make the rotor wear out?

thanks for the info

thanks for the brake info. If i switch aftermarket brakes from the standard brakes does this have any affect on the electronic brake force distributor?

I hate to admit it, but I'm 99% certain there will be a GREAT difference. Otherwise Nissan wouldn't of opt'd for Brembos.
The braking distance is largely determined by the traction limits of your tires. Both the stock brakes and the Brembos have more than enough power to lock the wheels...which means for all intents and purposes, they can stop the car in roughly the same distance. Not necessarily identical, but very close. Like VQ mentioned, the difference will be seen after repeated hard braking, where the Brembos will be much more resistant to fade than the stocks.

One more benefit of the Brembos: You can change pads without taking the caliper off. This means that you can change wheels and pads easily when you go to the track. Just add another 60 seconds per wheel to pull the retainer pin and swap the pads.

I just got my Z (track model) today and the brakes make a loud (I can sometimes here it even with the radio on) squeaking noise if I apply a certain amount of pressure to the pedal. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I take the car back to the dealer immediately? The performance seems fine but the noise doesn't seem normal for a brand new car... I currently have 90 miles on the vehicle...
