Default From Order to delivery????

Hey All,

If i was to order a New Z Base, lets say tomorrow afternoon....how long would it take for that baby to be in my driveway?

Anyone care to share their delivery experiences?

I don't have a "delivery experience" yet. But, to answer your question, it's really anyone's guess. The pre-orders are taking quite a while, but that's a different process from what you would be going through. You would be placing a regular order with a dealer and, keep in mind that different dealers get different quantities of Zs each month (based on their sales history). It would pay to shop around on both price and schedule.

People making regular orders (not pre-orders, since you can't pre-order anymore) on October 2 have been told that their cars will show up from mid-Dec. to mid-Jan. This may be somewhat optimistic, however, based on how slow deliveries currently seem to be. But, even if the Oct. 2 orders arrived, say, mid-Feb., that would mean that your order might be in your driveway mid-March.

As an alternative, you may be able to latch onto a canceled pre-order whereby a dealer gets in a pre-ordered Z and the buyer backs out. You can check with dealers near you (i.e., within reasonable driving distance) if interested in this option. Also, you can search for other threads on how to find a good deal on a Z.

If you ordered tomorrow, it would really be just a crap shoot on when you would be going through the gears of your own Z. Be prepared to wait and, while you do, participate in this Forum. You have over 5,000 members to keep you company.

I ordered Sept. 30 and my dealer "claims" that he'll have it in January or February. But from what I've read and found out here, I'm expecting mine more in the April range.

Wayne's right, though. It really all depends on what dealer you order from, how many that dealer is alotted each month, etc.

Good luck to ya, and we're all here to help you along the way.

At this point.. wait for the 350Z convertible.. Dealers may take orders on those in Dec.? some time.. Get it about 5 to 6 mos. later.. about as long as I waited for my Day Blue Enthusi 6 MT.. From Feb. 20 to August 29th..

Go find a dealer(s), that will sell you a Z at MSRP. Ask to be put on the waiting list. There is probably a deposit (usually a check they don't cash anyways). Anytime a car comes in that was pre-ordered then refused they will go to the list and call those people. You can check out the car, see if you like before you buy it. You may be waiting a while for a base model, I haven't seen one yet and I've seen at least a dozen Z's so far.
