Any guesses? They came from the front grill area of my car, while I was making something custom

one of our club members removed those things and now his whole grill opening is open... i dont know what function those things serve... they dont seem to do anything. like hndumafia said, for mounting fogs possibly? mounting brake cooling vents? mounting air intake vent?

Well, as long as those things don't keep my Z from blowing up (Read: NAWSSSS!!!), then I guess I'm ok to remove em.

And yes, as of now, my whole grill is open - possibly waiting for something to Mount in the Front to fill it in the future...

They are used to deflect air up to where the oem air box is.

that makes sense, I was gonna say maybe to route air through the radiator rather than around it.

I double checked all of that, and they appear to actually block only part of the PS vents, as well as don't send air upward (so that cancelles the airbox idea) and dont send air anywhere else but away from part of the PS vent, and part of the radiator. Weirdness!!

Thank you

Looks even better without the plastic "grill" now too. I cant decide if I will go mesh, leave it blank, or fill it with a nice FMIC attached to a SC...

And a side question, anyone here with the top mount SC (I think Stillen's) that left the cutout in the hood with the SC exposed??

I don't like the stillen hood at all, but leaving the SC exposed through the hood sounds even worse!

WHat he said.

They don't deflect air anywhere.. they are actually 'pockets'. Its to cover the stuff besides the radiator in there.
