Default Nose Cover Problems... yeha yeah I Know

Well.. I will be taking my nose cover back for a refund tomorrow. My hood will not close with it on. not at all. I tried all sorts of things and still it wont shut. Even if I was to raise the locking mech up my hood would be 1/8th in up frommy fenders.. soooo..

Back it goes... Nissan NNA didnt ahve a clue.. Dealership has no clue... soo.....

Guess I will be painting my nose ever year or so...

we have lots of rocks on our roads here in New Mexico... IDIOT Dumptruckers.....

EZ

Being that the Nissan front cover only covers the bumper why don't you get the clear bra, if you don't like the clear bra on the hood because of the line have it put on the bumper only it is nearly invisible since there are no edges and the imperfections are not visible like the hood.

Default Cost.. pain.. Cost....

Well.. I am waiting to see who will do it here.. and yeah.. I will be going that way soon... I wanted something in the intrim... no more intrim.. no gonna go strait to clear shield.... I dont mind the line from the clear film as long as the film stays clear and isnt going to yellow. Do you know if it does that?

I am very intereste in hearing what you guys think of that option.

I installed the nose mask without any problem with closing the hood. I did have a problem getting one of the 'tucks' between the headlight and the bumper - there just was not enough clearance to tuck the piece in. Also the 2 clips at the very front bottom outside edges (large clips, sewn on an angle) do not match the angle of the bumper, and even though they would attach, not perfectly.

But, I have 'seen the light', and removed the nose mask alltogether. I will keep in on hand for any long drives, where I anticipate poorer roads, or lots of bugs. I will also think about getting a clear bra, after I see some other installations, and doing the bumper like Westpak mentioned might also be a possiblity.

Talking Problem Solved;)

Thanks to the help of a Local So Cal Zer. We have had a 350Z bra prototype. This kit fits like a glove and is far more superior then the Nissan one.

Its probably around 90-100 retail price range for the full bra. We should have them in http://StrictlyZ.com in about 2-3 weeks.

I used it from my ride home and it saved my car from like 300-400 bugs I'll show you guys the bra covered with bugs when I get a chance to upload them

They are offered in Leather and Carbon Fiber style. I have had a few orders already preordered from people who saw mine. So if you guys want to contact me at (408)364-0156 for more information.

I originally was not a fan of the clear bra but once you see it on you will be sold, I know it is not perfect but at the distance that the picture of the black bra was taken you cannot tell the clear bra is on but you cannot miss the black bra plus no taking off when it rains or worrying about paint scratches. I know it is expensive but the issues of not having to worry about removal and the look converted me, it is the best money spent.

Default Wow.. what information

First off.. I dont know how you guys with the bra got your hood to close.. my hood has the clearence of the rubber seal between it and the bumper... super tight fit and with it closed like that the hood lines up with the fenders perfectly..

If I try to put the bra on .. my hood line is 1/8th higher than the fenders... I dont know why.. Nissan dosent know why.. so my only choice now is the clear cover.... which I will do as soon as I can.

I will see if they can do jsut the bumper and then the 4 inches of hood then the mirrors... so far I have only a few nicks... Hoping it stays that way... Still driving like everybody is out to get me. Keeping three car spaces between me and everybody else.

LOL the mirror bras do look S&Mish... wouldnt mind the protection but wow.. its a beast car.. need some studs on that too... no really.. I would put it on my Z too if I didnt have the option of the clear coat.

and if the bra fit my Z...

If I was going to get a bra again I would need one that has nothing but tie downs feeding under the hood... no cloth... so.. my loss.

Default Wow this thread goes on and on...

I have had the 3m put on since I posted this. Its okay but on the DB you can see the marks left from the install. It also didnt keep a rock from clipping a hole (tiny) in the 3m. But it does work.. since I can wipe the rock impacts off the nose.. very cool!

I did get a chip on my drivers door from a *ick in a honda kickin up a rock as he drifted into my lane as he was rubber necking.

I would like a full cover nose mask that COVERS over the hood fender nose gaps.. a FULL cover so that when I take a road trip I have extra protection.. though I would make sure it was secured tightly. I would also go with the mirror covers too for trips...

I dont want to have to paint my Z unless its totally necessary.

I have seen more Zs on the road lately then every before... Its so cool to see them and say.. I got one O them too....

Electro.. I also had a hell of a time..getting the nose guard on.. took me about 50 mins.. and with the help of another person.. i did get it on.. NOW it is easier to remove (to wash the car) AND replace.. after cleaning it..
THE top of the guard has a two part lip.. where the lower & thinner part fits under where the hood comes down.. AND the upper part that lifts (slightly) out way and over the hood once it is closed.. mine fits fine.. Too bad yours does not..
see the following ..

Default Looks pritty good!

I just wiped down my nose and found that the 3m clear cover isnt stopping some of the hits I am getting.. It looks like they are denting the paint behind the 3m. the coating looks intact but there is a small dimple behind the plastic.... What the heck is the 3m for if not to stop the dings... I am not sure its worth having the 3m on if the pits are going to show up under it even if the paint isnt lost.. other than aluminum plates on the nose.. J/K what will stop the road crap from wacking the paint..

Sheesh even

Default this week for the clear bra

saw some posts on good and bad re clear bra. Jim in buffalo grove, IL is going to set me up for $700 for kits and labor. He got good references here but I'm wondering if the front is still going to get nicked up under the clear stuff.

I got a Bra for my car basically for long drives... my last car got severely beat up without one during my long road trips. Its not such a bad thing.. I just keep it off when I'm around town.
