Question alignment data??

out of the 64 posts re: this question, no one has provided any alignment data. It seems everyone visually checks their tires for the feathering.

Why is this?
Do you not understand what their specs are?

Do you not have the service manuals?

Is it the $80-90 alignment cost and time spent?

Do you think alignment spec data is a non-issue?

Perhaps, this is analagous to people not going to the dentist until they have a cavity, at which point its too late.

Regardless if its new or has 20,000 miles on it, I would have thought people would have feedback on this.

I do a "visual" inspection to the best of my ability, and wanted to make sure b/c the worst thing for new cars is the transportation from the careless drivers/haulers.

At 4500 miles I experienced the following out of spec:

-left front camber out
-left front caster out
-left rear camber out

Perhaps, I'm in the wrong posting thread to address this issue....

Thanks for your feedback everyone.

You guys are luck that you haven't run into feathering problems. Had my tires replaced at 7000 miles. The sound was so loud you couldn't hear the stereo. I have 14000 miles now and noticed last week they are starting to feather again.....Dealer said it isn't bad enough yet for them to do anything so to just come back once it gets worse...go figure...

Maybe a little early to tell, but I have a 03 Track with 8100 miles. The original tires still look brand new and in my opinion have about 90% tread left front and back, but im no tire expert. I do find the stock track tires, Bridgestone, I believe a little noisy on the high way, not near as bad as my buddies lifted Jeep with 38 inch mud terrains. haha Any one put on a different brand of tire on to their rays rims yet and notice it being quieter? my suspicion is that some people have feathering and don't realize it or don't recognize it. if you're used to loud road noise (maybe coming from a truck or just a poorly insulated car), you may not notice the noise as something extremely unusual. all three car mags--edmunds, mt, autoweek--who conducted long term tests reported feathering. and autoweek reported that like 70% of owners they talked to had feathering. on top of that, every feathering poll on this site has demonstrated a lopsided majority of zs with feathering. (this thread invites only z owners *without* feathering to respond, so don't confuse it with a poll). my two cents.
