Default A diatribe against "teenager" scumbags

Those rotten filthy teenagers keep trying to race me! I'm a grandfather and I'm 63 years old, and although I never race (I swear!) everytime these damn punk kids give me the "look" I just have to assert my manhood and burn all those suckers.....

I'm 17. I have a black touring 6mt. I am a "scummy" kid, I do the same thing Hondas and other ricerockets do to you, except I do it to Porsches and Corvettes. And you know what I love? These fifty year-old men are the most unbelievably insane and demonic racers; they may not race as much as teens, but what they lack in quantity they more than make up for in neck snapping speeds and high g manuevers. Perhaps they are making up for their old age and ridiculous desire to buy a sportscar to prove their youthful natures, perhaps they can't get it up... who knows. I just got DESTROYED by a Carrera 4S driven by a mid 60's guy who took one look at me and threaded through LA traffic like nothing I've ever seen. If you guys are going to generalize, so am I:all old men with expensive sportscars are insane drivers and have a deep-seated and unhealthy desire to beat the younger generation. I love the way the teens on this site get dumped on for racing, and then the elders give themselves applause for out-driving them. What a role model you guys are. Wake up! You guys drive insanely fast!

Oh and btw: Any teenager who has acess to a Z who does not drive fast is a eunuch.

Default Or Maybe We Aren't Trying to Prove Anything...

Are you? I think anyone that puts other people's lives at risk is a loser. Racing is fine if it takes place in a controlled environment - at the very least an isolated environment. The 'weaving in and out of traffic' thing is stupid at any age IMO.

I'm 44 and own a 2003 PP White Touring Z and love it very much. I also own a red 1982 ZX Turbo and have loved it very much for several years. My question to you is, "at 17, where did you get the money to pay for this car?" If you are paying for it yourself, then you have my respect. If not, sorry. Things like 350Z's should be earned, not given as gifts, not taken for granted. It sounds to me that you lack the maturity to understand that nice cars appeal to people of all ages, that I am not going to stop living just because my age exceeds your standard, and that throwing out these "old guy" stereotypes only makes you appear quite a bit younger than you really are. You'll be an "old guy" too someday - that is if you don't wrap yourself around a tree.

Default And To Be Fair...

I agree with your argument against generalizing against teens. The prerequisite to being a moron does not include an age restriction.

Also remember: there are more professional racers at my age than at yours

It seems to me like this thread was an intentional flaming and it should be deleted. I really get disappointed with people starting threads that are solely meant to **** someone off. Go troll elsewhere.

For the record, I'm an in-betweener (26 years-old) and I think making statements like those are immature and don't serve to further a teenager's cause. Leave the old men alone. If you don't like what they have to say, just don't read it. As an in-betweener, I find myself as a mediator between young and old very often, even at work. I usually give this speech to both sides. Everyone has a right to ***** and everyone has something to ***** about. Just please don't do it on this forum. I don't know how the mods feel, but I think there are others who feel as I do.

Sorry if I upset anyone, but I'm only trying to do my part in keeping the flaming to a minimum.

Thanks, guys.

18 here, and my '02 SE-R is completely sticker-less. No fart cans and no 10-foot aluminum wings.

17 with a 350z, and 16 with a BMW!!!! Give me a damn break....

I'm 23 and a commissioned officer in the Marine Corps and I can't afford a touring 350z. Not like officers make a lot of money, but its still decent. Hell, i can't afford a base model right now.

If you didn't pay for the car yourself, which i suspect you didn't, then I would just keep the hell quiet about men who have worked their whole lives and want to have fun in their sports cars that they earned, and maybe complain about a kid or two.

Wow.... so you make generalizations like this all the time? It is an extremely ignorant and irresponsible thing to do. I am turning 18 on Monday (oct 28th) and I have gone through many cars... no accidents a few speeding tickets but those in Atlanta can relate. I drive better then most people of all ages. When I go somewhere regardless of who I am with I drive. With having my license for 2 years now I have driven over 100,000 miles. I may not be race car driver material but I am very good. I also have a sense of maturity high enough to know how ridiculous riced out cars are, as do most of my friends. I also paid for my cars for the most part...my parents helped with their credit background but most of the money I have come up with... I have had a serious job since I was 12... I got a job as a computer technician... don't make generalizations about a specific democratic regardless how true or close to the truth it is, if it is to be used as an insult.... I am not trying to make a huge deal out of this but I hate how people assume with age comes intelligence and wisdom... Age is only one component to that. It is the weakest component although......I don't normally rant and vent over small things but this is just one of my pet peeves....

Well this thread is getting old REALLy quickly.
But anyway...
Daytona, congrats...you sound legit. Please be careful with it. Imagine how upset you'd be if you wrecked it.

And is there ANYBODY in this forum that agrees that going onto your SIXTH car at the age of 17 is normal?

It just depends. People just like having something new. I've had 3 new cars since I was 16--I don't think that's a lot.

Yeah, that's excessive. Unless you were leasing. In any case you lose alot of money that way. Who knows, maybe one was a hyundai and one was a metro.

Maybe you should look into buying a house if you have that much money. Then you can have a "real" monthly payment. Especially if you live in SF or the bay.
