The G35 is a beast compared to the Z. It's WAY longer, big as your small sedans and about 200 lbs heavier. Looks are always subjective so I won't get into that. It does have pseudo-luxury, whereas the Z is geared more towards a sports car.
Suprisingly the back seats of the G35 are usuable. Conservatively, most people 5'10 and under can fit pretty comfortably. There is ample legroom, however the problem is the headroom is limited due to the very narrow rear glass. The one thing the backseats are useless for is hooking up, making out, whatever you want to call it. (I'm 17 this is crucial to me.) There is a very annoying plastic piece in the center that makes any type of physical actions between two people very painful and ackward for one or the other.
In the end: It's pseudo-luxury GT (G35 coupe) vs sports car (350Z). Up to you.

I was thinking hardcore about this too, and i think i decided to just keep my current car (mazda protege5) and hopefully get a 350z. If im gonna get a sports car, i might as well get the sportiest one i can
Maybe that's an option for you too.

It reminds me of that covertable Lexus having a back seat. You fit a bag of groceries back there, but for human seating......maybe a legless midget?.......I mean little person

The G35 is not a toyota supra. The rear seats are very useful with plenty of leg room. I'm not talking about a long road-trip. But i often have 6 footers in the back seat when going out to lunch or a night out in the city. If they lean all the way back, yes their heads will hit the glass, but they are able to find a comfortable position for a quick 30 minute drive.
This is with a 6' 2" coworker in the front passenger seat and a 6' 1" coworker in the rear seat behind him. For quick trips, its not an issue.

Do you have kids for the backsets? That seems to be the real question. If you have kids, we dont really have to fight over height. Also this is kinda aimed at DragonGcoupe, does the G35 really feel that much heavier and that much longer? I have never driven one, so i dont know.

I was in the same dilemma as you when considering buying one or the other. The only advantage I saw to the g35c was the backseat but in the end the Z won out. then again im 20 and single so what do i need a backseat for anyway? I've had the Z for a couple months now and am happy with my decision

Are you guys kidding? The back seats in a G are TOTALLY not usable for most people. I'm a relatively small asian guy, 5'7 .. my head basically hits the glass .. it's bearable but not comfortable at all.
If I spiked my hair my friends (2 guys own G's) would have to clean their windows ...
