Default Radial Drift is the problem (most likely)

Default mileage

Only had 12 miles on the car when I picked it up - noticed the pulling to the right soon after (I had left the dealership, of course). Tried changing tire pressure settings on the right side (higher than left) but doesn't seem to help. Not a bad right pull but noticeable. First service, I'll get it looked at and probably aligned.

My car had 7 miles on it when I got it.

I did however get a call back from Mossy Nissan's service Manager. He is a great guy and very concerned that my car gets fixed promptly and correctly.

He rush ordered two new front tires for me. He says he should have them in by the middle of next week.

He also hopes that his alignment adjustment add ons (to handle an 18" tire) will also be in at that time so he can mount and balance the new tires and do a 4 wheel alignment which will hopefully fix the problem.

He now knows the problem is for real (he spoke with NNA) and is, once again, very concerned in getting my Z fixed ASAP.

I highly recommend them so far!

Even with the above problems.....

I LOVE THIS FREAKIN CAR!

If you will check the alignment specs you will find that both right and left caster are set the same. This means no caster split. The left caster setting should be around 1/2 degree less than the right. This will compensate for the road crown. A car will try to steer towards the side that has the less caster. On some of the stock cars I have worked on I have set up the left side with 0 degrees and the right with 3 and 1/2 degrees. Car pulls like hell to the left but turns left like it was on a rail. BTW: caster not a wear alighment adjustment. It will only affect the cars pulling left/right.

Problrms with the belts seperating within he tire causing it to pull does happen but there are too many 350Z owners reporting their cars pulling to the right for me to belive this is just a 'tire' problem.

Never mind the caster settings. I just saw the alignment specs posted in the tech fourm. seem the caster is not adjustable at this time. Somebody in the aftermarket will have to design a caster camber adjustment plate (like is used on the mustang)for this car.

Somebody in that thread said they found the rear toe off. If that was the case, it might be wise to have the thrust alignment checked too. This is to insure the rear wheels follow the front and do not 'crab' sideways. I sure some of you have seen a small car, from behind it, going down the road and the rear wheels are not following the front ones. This does not mean it has been wrecked but could be a very bad alignment.
Hope all this helps. My car will be here shortly and I will check out the alignment and see if i can find anything we can tell the dealers to check and adjust.
