September Delivery-ordered Ist Day Of Launch

I work at a Nissan dealership in NJ. I ordered myself a pikes peak white/charcoal 6 speed touring 350z, on Jan 15 the first day of the program launch. I was eally expecting to get my car in August. To my surprise I received my production status forms from Nissan this week. The first thing I did was check to see what the status of my car was. I couldn't believe my eyes my dealership is recieving only 1 Z in August and it wasn't mine. The first car is an automatic touring that was ordered # 6 in my store. I can't believe it. These status sheets tel us when the car is being built andwhat monththey will be delivered to us. There are no specific dates on which they are coming in just what month they're coming. If you ordered early on your dealership should know from these sheets what month your car is coming. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Welcome to the forum Chi. Sorry the first words we hear from you are not so good news. You of all people should know the wait will be worth it.

I'd like to know how the delivery decision process works. If anyone has a clue please post. I ordered May 16th and received my confirmation last week.

Hey Chi,

I actually reserved my Z last Thanksgiving, having a deposit in before the pre-order process. I received the same news (see link) a few weeks ago even though I was told I was one of the first 500 to order.

I seriously doubt anyone will own a Z before September. Just my guess.....

Chi,

do all the dealers get the "sheet" at once? Because i spoke with my dealer yesterday and he didn't know anything. Any info will help.

Same thing here. I ordered on 1/12 and my car was the dealers second order right behind the owner. I received an email last week telling me my car was due for July build/late August early September delivery. Seemed like I was getting the shaft at first because I thought I would be getting the car the beginning of August. I went in to the dealership today and actually talked to the owner. Even though his is the first order, he won't be getting his car until late September at the earliest. The number 5 guy on the list is getting the first one so go figure. In a way it's kind of better. Let them do the initial run to work out the production bugs and quality control problems and then build mine.
