Check with your insurance company and see what your deductible for glass is. It's usually different that your regular collision deductible.
Sorry to hear that, though. I feel your pain--had to get mine replace about a year ago now.

Same thing happened to me today, but the rock just cause a chip in the glass no crack. does there need to be a crack in the glass for insurance to replace or anything that causes the glass to be "weaken" sufficient for replacement?

2. If you go through Safelight auto glass, they'll charge you ~$270 for a new windshield. I used them a few months ago and they are great. Since my deductible is $500, I paid for it myself without going through the insurance company. If your deductible is ~$100, I'd pay the $100 and have them pay the rest. If you're planning to pay for it yourself, don't even mention it to your insurance provider, because sometimes they quote ridiculous prices. Dang insurance companies -

Windshield replacement
I had my windshield replaced about 6 months ago. A car kicked up a rock just at the base of the drivers side. A nise round pit the size of a quarter was in the windshield. After a couple of hours of cooling and heating up a crack ran half way across the windshield. I called All Star Glass her in Los Angeles and they delivered and installed my windshield for $190.00. It is the same quality as the original just a differend company. Ron, the service manager at Foothill Nissan recommended that I call this place since they sell to the public at almost wholesale. They are also on the internet.http://www.allstarglass.net/
