Default some insight from you vets?

Okay I recently have decided to finally pick up my new car. After a lot of saving and tons of deliberation I have decided that I am after either a Z or G.

I love the looks of the Z, I think it's agressive and has a great aftermarket following. I dislike that it has no sunroof and has only 2 seats (I am used to this and can get over it seeing as I barely ever need more than 2 seats)

I have a deposit on a G coupe right now but I'm skeptical about which to get.

I intend to make this a show car but at the same time a street car. I find both are amazing in their both right.

I think the G has the upperhand having the Sunroof and 2+2 but a bit under powered compared to the Z and not as aggressive as the Z.

I was hoping you all could give me some quick reviews on each in order to further my assistance and aid me in my decision.

Thank you guys!

Ask yourself if you need 2 more seats and a sunroof, or not?

The 05 G35 has more HP. The Anniversary Z (05.5) will have more. Why dont you test drive each? 05 G35 Vs. 05 Z, or wait for the anniversary Z to come out in 06.

You want a "show car" that is really sporty, Get the Z....You want more luxury/ 2 more seats/ sunroof, get the G.

Forget about the sun roof, go sit in the 350Z then go sit in the G35c, and then make you desicion. (sp?) Thats how I did it.

Then ask yourself, do you want a track like car or do you want grandma's grocery getter?

If this is going to be a show car, you might want to go with the Z, which has a lower base price (if you get, for example, the Enthusiast). The reason behind this is that, if you're going to be changing out a lot of stuff anyway, you may as well try for a lower price of entry. Good luck, and post pics!

I thought the new 35th anniversary Z came out january of 05? Correct me if I'm wrong. I have actually already sat in both the G and the Z.... that's why I had to turn to you all and see if I could gain a deeper insight to my dilemma.

I DO like the fact that there are 2 more seats and a sunroof on the G. However I dislike the cost jump compared to the Z. I like the more agressive and peppy nature of the Z. But do you all have any quirks in the actual driving etc. of the car? Remember I'd like to hear the insight from those of you driving these things on a daily basis =) Thanks guys! And thanks to those of you who have already given some insight, it does indeed help a lot!

You can get a sunroof installed on a Z.

The horsepower difference really isn't enough to make a huge difference. The G is a little bigger/heavier car...so think of it as a little softer Z.

The infiniti is more luxury, the Z is more sport.

As for looks, any aftermarket exterior parts will make a G look pretty aggressive...so I wouldn't worry about that either.

It's all about whether or not you really want those back two seats, because it's going to be really hard to add those to a Z later down the road.

like mentioned above the 2 main things to consider is the back seat and the exterior styling. to me the lack of a backseat was a small downside but the styling and cheaper price pushed me towards the Z.

I think there are way more body kits for the Z than the G35c and for the amount $$$ diff u can buy plenty of stuff for the Z and get your dream sunroof done by a professional shop.

Well I am young and am used to the 2 seater deal, having had plenty of them myself.

I rarely use the backseat if ever. Maybe 5% of the time I ever own a car do I use the back seat so it's not a big sacrifice.

I really love the looks of the Z so I guess I know which way my money will be heading.

Thanks for all the help guys!!

I donno if i agree with the G being a family car either one can be a show car...depends on whats going to make you happy....ask your self since you want a show car, do you want to be driving to NOPI or HIN with 1 other friend or you want to take 3 other friends ...Or even better leaving the car show with 1 cute girl or 3 cute girls lol...

on the serious note.. i went through the same thing.. and i ended up with the G b/c i wanted a luxury sports coupe with back seats
