Whats the purpose of matching rev when u down shift?

So you dont get a jerk in the car when you let the clutch out....

You can let the clutch out slowly and not rev match, but it will give a little bit more wear on the clutch....

True. It also helps to slow down wear on your tranny. Plus it's also fun doing it while you're going around a corner
