slower throttle response after HU install?

slower throttle response after HU install?
I just installed an alpine 9831 head unit and afterwards, I noticed that the RPM's take just a split second longer to respond to the throttle. I actually stalled a couple times because of it until i got used to the delay. Could it be an issue with grounding or something?
