Guys,

I am in the same situation. I am trying to sell my father in law's old corolla 1981 (drives really good, he was a former mechanic so he took care of his car).

I was going to use that as a daily driver and hopefully decrease my insurance in the Z. But then again, i have to pay the insurance for the second car, so it balances out.

But the key thing that you have to remember, don't you want to drive the Z or just stare at it? Its a depreciation product!!!

Tony
the insurance on that car shouldnt be more that 30-50 bucks a month.

Its worth every penny to not have to worry about where I have to park the Z or if its gonna get broken into to vandalized.

Get drunk.. and smash away. oh yeah, don't forget to drive into a wall. hahah jk
I think 328K is the current record. I havent seen any with over 290K on it. I wanna drive it til it blows but that may take a while. I may just start taking the motor apart and attempt to rebuild it. If I do rebuild it, I'll learn a thing or two and if I dont oh well.

I don't think anyone is looking at the one major disadvantage: less time in your Z!

I just bought a DD myself, a 92 Prelude for $1500, runs great and it doesn't look too bad either. With my insurance company I get a 10% discount for having mutiple cars, so the savings almost pays the insurance on the beater.

I just washed my Z today and noticed my first ding, nothing too bad, but it's still there. I love having a POS to drive to work, I don't have to worry about where to park or rain, or snow. I think it was a really good investment, plus I keep the miles and the wear off the good car.

Your insurance on the Z may go down if it becomes a secondary car.....
