Default How often do you run HID lights?

These lights are so hot, I love to run them during the day. Whats the expected lifetime of them and how much do replacement bulbs costs?

Is it a bad idea to run them during the day?

I was RTFM and it scared me by telling me something about HID life.

Good to know!

So have I from my last car, and when I read the manual I got nervous, it started talking about bulb life, etc, and I had no clue what the life was or what I was doing to the bulbs. And no matter what every time I get in the car right after I buckle up I turn on the lights... both without even thinking..

I just leave them on all the time. And when you turn the car off the lights go off automatically after five minutes.

You're right, they range from 2,000-3,000 hours depending on manufacturer.

One bulb lists for $215.45, but it sells from this Nissan dealer for $161.59. It ain't cheap if you burn out your bulbs early. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...03&catalogid=2
